Beware of the chameleon!

I was thinking about the ease we have in adapting to the environment we live in and the people we live with! It’s very common to see people make the same mistakes of others, close to them, and have the same attitudes. It all depends on the environment in which you live in!

If you want to please God, you have to pay attention to see if you’re not changing your behavior according to the environment and the people.

One example of that is that at home you give a bad testimony to the family while at church you show holiness, you’re a good girl, obedient with others and authorities; at school, you’re just like your classmates, and at work you have the same attitudes and wrong behavior as your coworkers, etc. That is, you’re not giving a testimony of the faith you say you have!

We cannot be like the chameleon that becomes the same color with the environment that he’s in!

We shouldn’t camouflage the true identity! If you have the identity of faith, assume it wherever you are, be different, stand out from others, don’t be like someone else just to be accepted, because one of the virtues that is much admired in a person, it’s when she is herself in all places, regardless of who she is.

The truth will always prevail and as hard as you try to hide, there will come a time when it’ll become visible to everyone!

God hates hypocrisy, and loves the sincere!

Assume your faith, and may your attitudes show the faith that you say you have everywhere!

Forgive, love, be sincere, genuine, have good eyes, be faithful, humble, and the reward will come, not from men, but from God!

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.”

(Rom. 12: 9)

  1. Thank you for the post. For me what stood out was that we need to make sure we are pleasing God by seeing ourselves change in our environment and with people we know. It honestly does start there and we need to make sure that we are always changing to please him because if we don’t, It will be revealed.

  2. Thank you for sharing, it is very true, just to be sincere and be yourself and not please man but God because where the rewards comes from. The creator himself

  3. Yes, even when we seem to the be the odd one, because we do not do what everyone else does, we need to do what God expects from us. Unpopular with man but popular with God.

As, I am university it is very easy for anyone to try to blend in because of the peer pressure and all but, I learnt that I must remain who I am everywhere I go and also be extremely aware of my behaviour and my environment and how it affects me. As, if I want to bring the people around me to God then my faith must always be seen everywhere I go because if it’s not seen then how can the people around me be saved if they don’t see God in me or see that difference. This message taught me to remain who I am and not try to blend in as, God made me to stand out but, also to be faithful to God abd not become a different person where I am but, to be sincere and be myself

  6. Chameleons also changes to hide and protect themselves.
If I am not doing anything wrong then there is no need to hide or to protect who I really am. But when I am decided. I don’t care! Who agrees, disagree, approve or not if that’s what my Love my God stands for then it’s the right way I am worthy to stand by.

But it is also important that the friends one keeps are of the same mind frame because it’s all good and well me have the decision written in stone and stuck by but it’s possible that no matter who you are how strong you may think you are. you can still become weak an vulnerable to its important to have people around walking in the direction in which you want to follow to empower no weaken you on he faith.
