What do you like to do the most? (Part III)

We continue with the question of the month: “What do you like to do the most?” We already addressed two subjects related to this. If you have not followed these posts related to the Work of God, I advise you to go to the links and get started from the beginning.

“And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh…” (Gn.6: 3)

Why flesh? It’s because the person is seeking his or her own honor. He or she wants everything to go well and flow, so they can feel good about themselves!

And what happens when you feel good about yourself?

You demand more from others; you do not watch; you think you are “worthy” of a position … and when another colleague receives a position instead of you, you feel it’s unfair, and you do not understand why. After all, all the attention should be focused on you. You ask, “If I was growing, why didn’t I get the position? Why did that person get this responsibility, if I’m better than him or her?”

This happens when you expect something or you feel like only you are worthy of realizing certain functions.

When I feel good about my job, I feel independent, I know everything, I have control, I know how to manage my time, I know how to grow, etc.
When you overcome, you have to be careful with everything that makes you overcome because this is not a blessing … Blessings are not my possessions!

The proof of this is that Jesus lost everything and everyone to the point of even being without the Father. And it was after He lost everything that He was allowed to return to the Father and sit upon the throne. And so, before Him every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess!

The Father did this when the Lord Jesus lost everything, to prove who He was. He lost His “title” and was naked … but before all this, the worst thing was to be away from the Father!

He “lost” not because he did wrong, but out of obedience! If the Lord Jesus did what He pleased, He would not have died for us on the cross, because it was not pleasing to Him to be away from the Father.

God will not act forever in those who delight themselves of earthly things, those who take on what their eyes covet.

And before all that, have you already responded to the question: “What do you like to do the most?”

Continuation next week …

  1. Its human nature to seek approval or to be in higher position, which in a way one was not aware that seeking own glory is wrong because a servant will end up thinking that he or she is better than the other despising others

  2. it is very important that a we don’t take the honour for ourselves, that we don’t boast about ourselves because only God deserve the honour,we only have to obey

  3. As human beings we are born with the nature of being self-serving creatures. As long as we keep that nature alive we will never understand that whatever happens to us, whether good or bad, all glory goes to God the Almighty

  4. What do you like to do the most?

Referring to the above passage where God is clearly telling us that HE will not fight with us forever, meaning our flesh cannot stand the world challenges and God still being on our side if we are not in Spirit. Since this scripture I’ve been observing my daily requests, my prayers, my complains and my achievements and I see that none of these makes my life complete so I cannot really say there is anything in this world is like the most. This has opened my eyes to see that if I don’t prioritise God then I am a looser

  6. I realised that blessing are not my possession and to becareful in doing the work of God. This is an eye opener for me to realised that blessing is not the major thing for me in the work of God but sacrificing all my life in doing it. Thank you.
