What do you like to do the most? (Part III)

We continue with the question of the month: “What do you like to do the most?” We already addressed two subjects related to this. If you have not followed these posts related to the Work of God, I advise you to go to the links and get started from the beginning.

“And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh…” (Gn.6: 3)

Why flesh? It’s because the person is seeking his or her own honor. He or she wants everything to go well and flow, so they can feel good about themselves!

And what happens when you feel good about yourself?

You demand more from others; you do not watch; you think you are “worthy” of a position … and when another colleague receives a position instead of you, you feel it’s unfair, and you do not understand why. After all, all the attention should be focused on you. You ask, “If I was growing, why didn’t I get the position? Why did that person get this responsibility, if I’m better than him or her?”

This happens when you expect something or you feel like only you are worthy of realizing certain functions.

When I feel good about my job, I feel independent, I know everything, I have control, I know how to manage my time, I know how to grow, etc.
When you overcome, you have to be careful with everything that makes you overcome because this is not a blessing … Blessings are not my possessions!

The proof of this is that Jesus lost everything and everyone to the point of even being without the Father. And it was after He lost everything that He was allowed to return to the Father and sit upon the throne. And so, before Him every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess!

The Father did this when the Lord Jesus lost everything, to prove who He was. He lost His “title” and was naked … but before all this, the worst thing was to be away from the Father!

He “lost” not because he did wrong, but out of obedience! If the Lord Jesus did what He pleased, He would not have died for us on the cross, because it was not pleasing to Him to be away from the Father.

God will not act forever in those who delight themselves of earthly things, those who take on what their eyes covet.

And before all that, have you already responded to the question: “What do you like to do the most?”

Continuation next week …

  1. Thank you. Everything you have been saying is something so small that if not watchful can destroy us inside. Like a hidden cancer.

  3. This reminds me of a saying I once herd, it goes: “be careful to not step on a brick and faint from the hight”. Thank you for causing us to look more closely into who we are and to anaylise our reasons for the things we do because our God is great, He searches our hearts and examines our minds. I know that this post has helped me. Thank you!

  6. Reading this series made me realise that I need to examine my motives, I need to first ask myself why I do what I do, why I help another person and whose attention do I want to get. Do I want to be seen by men or by God. I now realise the importance of staying humble and always being in spirit because the devil can use that against me. Thank you again Mrs Vivi.
