What do you like to do the most? (Part III)

We continue with the question of the month: “What do you like to do the most?” We already addressed two subjects related to this. If you have not followed these posts related to the Work of God, I advise you to go to the links and get started from the beginning.

“And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh…” (Gn.6: 3)

Why flesh? It’s because the person is seeking his or her own honor. He or she wants everything to go well and flow, so they can feel good about themselves!

And what happens when you feel good about yourself?

You demand more from others; you do not watch; you think you are “worthy” of a position … and when another colleague receives a position instead of you, you feel it’s unfair, and you do not understand why. After all, all the attention should be focused on you. You ask, “If I was growing, why didn’t I get the position? Why did that person get this responsibility, if I’m better than him or her?”

This happens when you expect something or you feel like only you are worthy of realizing certain functions.

When I feel good about my job, I feel independent, I know everything, I have control, I know how to manage my time, I know how to grow, etc.
When you overcome, you have to be careful with everything that makes you overcome because this is not a blessing … Blessings are not my possessions!

The proof of this is that Jesus lost everything and everyone to the point of even being without the Father. And it was after He lost everything that He was allowed to return to the Father and sit upon the throne. And so, before Him every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess!

The Father did this when the Lord Jesus lost everything, to prove who He was. He lost His “title” and was naked … but before all this, the worst thing was to be away from the Father!

He “lost” not because he did wrong, but out of obedience! If the Lord Jesus did what He pleased, He would not have died for us on the cross, because it was not pleasing to Him to be away from the Father.

God will not act forever in those who delight themselves of earthly things, those who take on what their eyes covet.

And before all that, have you already responded to the question: “What do you like to do the most?”

Continuation next week …

  2. God’s Spirit will not remain with us because it is holy and it wants to return with the Lord. We need to take advantage that the Spirit is with us before it is to late.

  3. Yes i have. I asked my self this question after reading the first blog on this topic. For me it has been a blessing for me to read this and understand it because while reading this i realized there was something i was loving to much for myself. I loved helping in tha area of church but now ive had to really examine my motives and ensure that my heart is in the right place and God is truly first. We can say it but what and why we do it proves it.
I am so grateful to have read this, it has truly helped me open my eyes to a new danger i never knew existed. Thank you so much!

  4. This is a very interesting topic. For me this title would’ve been “What DID I like to do the most”. I was a workaholic. All I did was work, work, and work. I use to work six to seven day weeks. I even went as far as to volunteer for overtime. My body would ache but I kept on working. But oh how I realized how that the worst thing I did to myself was be without my father. I worked so much I never searched for a relationship with my father. Now that I have a deepening relationship with him, he comes first. Now, I work my normal 5 days. I have become an active member at my church and have started a prayer group with couple of members of my church where we pray daily for everyone.

  5. I haven’t figured out what I like doing the most, but I really hope that this course will help me realise what it is, and if it’s bad how do I go about working against it, if it’s not, then how do I go about embracing it. Thanks Mrs Vivi ♡♡♡

  6. Good day, Everyone in this talk.

There are three things that jumped for me and I will keep for me and would like to share as well…

    1.”Blessings are not my possessions!”
When God blesses me, it is because I asked and He opened His Hand and gave to me, So that I could give all the praise and Glory to Him, because without Him, I would not have had what is now the Blessing.
Regarding responsibilities, it is not for me to direct the Holy Spirit ,who He shall count on a certain responsibility, We are all different and He uses us in different and suitable ways. However, the desire of a responsibility should not be a measurement of “growth” in our spiritual life. We should be focusing on the salvation of our souls, and always check our intentions.

2.”…the worst thing was to be away from the Father!
One may have so many responsibilities and there’s nothing wrong in that, but with all that, one needs to see one’s time and voice of God, because it is easier to get so much busy with the work and forget the real-communion with God. Whether we get responsibilities or recognition or not, being far from the father is worst of it all, because who makes you understand? who keeps you grounded? God, now imagine to live far from him, even these “conquests” will not sustain us in His Kingdom.

3.”He “lost” not because he did wrong, but out of obedience! ”
When we lose because of obedience, it brings true joy, others may fail to understand, but great is the joy and peace you have. Though our Lord Jesus went through unimaginable pain and persecution , I believe that when He know to whom it was for, That motivated Him and knowing that He was pleasing His Father, He trusted Him in that Great way.
For us it should be the same, we may never go through the great pain He went through,We could have never bared with that, but He did, Even with us,the pain which we go through at times that is sufficient for us to bear, Let we go through it,persecution, neglect, tribulation, rejection. Before we give up, let us know to who are doing it for? This will keep us and when we obey, He will honor us.

This is my understanding, thank you Big Sister.
