Negative friendships!

We are used to uttering the following saying: “Tell me whom you walk with, and I will tell you who you are!”

This is a reality, because many young people think, “I am around them, but I don’t do what they do!” It may be that you don’t do it for now, but you support what they do, or you aren’t bothered with their mistakes, because you enjoy it! It’s just a matter of time before you have the same attitudes!

“Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?”  (Amos 3: 3)

If you want to be a testimony of the Lord here on Earth and have a full and blessed life—you have to pay the price, that is, you have to sacrifice!

Nothing that comes from God comes with ease! God teaches us that by faith we conquer, but He never said it was going to be easy! It requires of us to deny ourselves, deny our own will, and if friendships have influenced you in a negative way, you also need to sacrifice them! It’s no use just having the desire—you have to practice it!

What’s it worth saying you have faith, but you don’t take the attitudes that your faith requires you?!

My friend think, God doesn’t want us to suffer in the future, that’s why He left us all the teachings so that if we obey, we will be complete and saved! Do not allow yourself to be carried away by emotions and attractions, have a goal!

“…Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”  (James 4: 4)

Try to be friends with people who have something positive to pass on to you, choose your friends!

Be a friend of God and an enemy of the world!

Understand, you are either God’s friend or the world’s friend! There is no way to be friends with both of them!

You and I have the free will to choose!

See you next week!

  1. I feel that it is right because when you have a person that thinks of the world and value it l, sometimes it comes with a lot of opinions and negativity.

  2. The post was very interesting and it reminded me of a saying birds of a feather flock together. Its true those a person may not do the worldly things that their friends or colleagues do but by hanging around with them it like you are saying it ok I agree I dont have a problem with your behaviour or speech. In short you support it. Also because you hang around with the wrong crowd because of how they are others outside the group will think you are the same even if your not simply because you are around them. Its very important as said to choose the people you hang around with wisely that are positive, uplifting that will not compormise your faith. If possible that even share it. Thanks it gave me alot to think about.

  3. This message is strong, Nothing that comes from God, comes with ease. Before getting serious with God I sacrifice my relationship with those who want to get go out clubbing and having boyfriend and I cut them off and to be honest I will do it again as I will not give up my relationship with God for no one. Thank you so much

  4. Nothing that comes from God, comes with ease. For me that line stood out. Steps in our everyday lives needs to represent that fact that we are constantly fighting to get the blessings from God. nothing else.

  5. This is very strong I learnt from my mistakes as I used to have friends who were bad friends and because of what they did to me I had to cut off even though it was hard I had to sacrifice and to do what is right before my God.

  6. I fully agree with you Mrs Viviane
The decision to take God seriously caused me to have to seperate from the friends I had, though I enjoyed their company. However, what they were doing and the impact they had on me were not helping me.

It was hard but it was possible.
