Negative friendships!

We are used to uttering the following saying: “Tell me whom you walk with, and I will tell you who you are!”

This is a reality, because many young people think, “I am around them, but I don’t do what they do!” It may be that you don’t do it for now, but you support what they do, or you aren’t bothered with their mistakes, because you enjoy it! It’s just a matter of time before you have the same attitudes!

“Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?”  (Amos 3: 3)

If you want to be a testimony of the Lord here on Earth and have a full and blessed life—you have to pay the price, that is, you have to sacrifice!

Nothing that comes from God comes with ease! God teaches us that by faith we conquer, but He never said it was going to be easy! It requires of us to deny ourselves, deny our own will, and if friendships have influenced you in a negative way, you also need to sacrifice them! It’s no use just having the desire—you have to practice it!

What’s it worth saying you have faith, but you don’t take the attitudes that your faith requires you?!

My friend think, God doesn’t want us to suffer in the future, that’s why He left us all the teachings so that if we obey, we will be complete and saved! Do not allow yourself to be carried away by emotions and attractions, have a goal!

“…Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”  (James 4: 4)

Try to be friends with people who have something positive to pass on to you, choose your friends!

Be a friend of God and an enemy of the world!

Understand, you are either God’s friend or the world’s friend! There is no way to be friends with both of them!

You and I have the free will to choose!

See you next week!

  1. It is so true, we can’t go on calling ourselves women go God while at the same time we are entertaining gossips, we can either be truly of God or remain of the world.

  2. This is very true and something for me to remember just because someone is in the faith with me doesn’t mean they are the right friend for me have to carefully analyse those who are around me.

  3. Very True. A life of a fulfilling Christian is a life of sacrifice. I used to be. very attached to friends who were of negative influence and that time if I remember, my life was full of sadness. The year I chose to let go of such friendships, was the year that I started having clear goals and true joy.

I still gave to watch those that want to be a part of my friendship because my main goal is to maintain and keep my salvation.

    Thanks for sharing.

  4. This is very true, it’s either I’m God friends or I’m friends with the world. There no inbetween. It’s all or nothing.

  5. Everyday we have to see who are we with, what are we talking about, what that is making towards my relationship with God. If that friendship is making you get far from the things of God, its better to be alone.

  6. Thank you. It is so true as friends can have a big impact in our lives. Even if at hard times friends are around, I cannot allow them to jepodise my faith – ultimately my salvation. Many times I think it would be good to have alot of friends but my ultimate friend is God who is always around and I cannot swap Him for the friends in the world.
