Self-sufficient assistant

While talking with an assistant, she told me about the difficulties and deserts that she was experiencing.

Her words were almost schematic. Her position before what was happening was of someone that was very secure and practical. It seemed like there was no pain and only a sense of self-sufficiency, as if she could manage to solve everything through the strength of her arm. And that is precisely where the danger comes into play!

You may ask, “But Luisa, isn’t that positive, the person feels secure and practical during difficult times?”

On one side yes, because the person is not easily shaken; but on the other side of the coin, it leads them to being independent from God, because we develop a pride that we can overcome ourselves … and this happens in a very subtle way.

In times of difficulties, we should make the most of seeking in depth what God wants to reveal to us. Because everything that happens in our life is not in vain, especially in the life of the righteous. God always wants to speak to us, reveal something new and we learn more about ourselves.

For this reason, do not allow yourself to be indifferent at the time of pain, as this will distance you from God.

There are many assistants that have stood-out in their service in the Work of God, they are active, always ready. But when it comes to solving what is within them, seeking God and doing his will, what He wants for their lives during difficult times … they lean on themselves, on their works and their knowledge. And they end up not taking advantage of these moments to develop their inner and personal being.

We must not forget that everything is permitted by God and often it is a way to draw our attention towards Him and develop a closer relationship; and fully depend on His strength, and not on the strength of our “arms”.

“This is what the Lord says: Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord…“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. (Jr.17: 5,7)

  1. Faith is a piece of God inside of us, without it we cannot do anything therefore we do not have to depend on our own stregnth and it is the currency to our succes, without it we cannot archieve anything.

  2. I will answer by sharing my story. Some time ago, before God blessed me with a wonderful husband;I was caught up in a psychologically abusive, childless and pretentious marriage. You can imagine my pain and sometimes despair. The only hope I had was in God being who He said He is.The one who answers ALL the prayers as long as we believed in Him.I received this training from UCKG on different platforms.
I didnt know how God was going to answer, not even once did I ever ask for divorce or for my ex-husband to be taken away from me.I remember how I used to attend Lovelife meetings Saturdays.Through all this-even though I was sad and hurting inside,I was strong on the outside and those who didnt know wouldnt have guessed the depht of my problems.I trusted God for an answer but the world didnt know .The peace that surpasses all understanding allowed me strenght.
When God brought a turnaround in my life, many said they had no clue that I was going through all this.I am married again;it is over 2 years now and I can say I am happily married.
I want to say,yes we have to trust and depend in God not ourselves or ability to endure. However,He gives us different scenarios. The important thing is to know Him as your only source.
    Thanks
    Antonette

  3. Depending on your own strength does not work, its only when we use our faith through God power that we will see the results…

  4. Really Mrs Vivane it is the truth sometimes when we face problems we forget God and we start to say many things like where is God my life was not like this forgetting that we came to him naked and He accepted us and changed our life then we started to do things on our own not depending on God I believe through this 21 Days we will learn to lean to God so that we can be much closer to Him all the time we are with Him until the end

  5. Thank you Mrs Luisa for sharing

Sometimes we want to show how unshaken we can be when facing certain difficulties and without realizing, we end up using our skills, our own strength and knowledge to solve spiritual matters, without even consulting God and thats where prides sneaks in to devour us and make us think that we are stronger, better, more qualified to do this and that.
    Very insightful post.

  6. Hello Dona Luisa,

What you said here is true. When we try to solve our problems using our own strength we miss out on how God can work in our life. Many times I had been tempted to do such but God showed me that it is better to trust Him with everything. After all, He is the Lord of the work and knows better.

    Kisses.
