Nowadays, it’s almost impossible for a young person not to like music.

Even if the person doesn’t know anything about music theory or play an instrument, there will always be some lyrics or melody that will stick in their head enough to make them hum the tune.

What kind of music do the young people listen to today? Is it rap, house, reggae, pop, rock, or romantic?

Many people especially young ones, have access to music through CD ‘s, internet, in parties, etc.

With this, we can see that everyone likes music and it can make a big difference in our every day lives. It can provide great moments with friends, in a romance, or in a moment of great emotion.

When we are adolescents, musical taste isn’t based on the country’s culture, but on what the media presents and categorizes as being good.

Musical groups are formed by the affinity of tastes. People who feel the same way, go out to the same places, dress in clothes from the same shop, etc. What does music have to do with that?

Young people idolize these artists in a way that they influence the way they act, think, dress and even the way they walk.

The adolescence years are the time when they try to find their identity (form their character).

When adolescents have trouble finding their individuality, they often to music and the artist they look up to.

But this has its bad side … If the singer thinks and acts in an unbalanced and wrong way they will lead their fans to do the same.

For example, if the artist uses drugs, then the fans can also end up using. They also try to imitate the way they dress. And there are those who even practice the lyrics of a song.

These idols become a “mirror ” in which their followers reflect themselves on.

Music is an excellent means of meditation, concentration and expression of our feelings, but we must pay attention to the lyrics and what the music is inducing us to sing, think or do

A hug!

  1. To myself music brings joy, laughter and it sets my mind free 🙂 Kem Owen has tried to make this clear in his song titled “Set you free” where he says let the music set you free 🙂
