Youth : I committed a sin, now what do I do?

Many young people turn away from God, give up being faithful in their faith, after committing a sin (something they know is wrong, something that separates them from God, but still continue to do so).

After committing a sin, the person no longer seems the same anymore, before they were fervent, but now are full of doubts and insecurities; before they lived a peaceful life, now they are living an inner hell.

How does one get out of this situation? How does one turn back? Is it possible?

Before knowing the answer to these questions, you should first consider what led him/her to commit sin. Nobody having an intimate communion with God, who fears Him and is vigilant, wakes up one day and decides to throw away everything that they conquered spiritually to commit a sin and thus throwing their salvation away.

First there was numbness of faith, a lack of vigilance, a lack of fear, and an accommodation!
This was the beginning of the fall. And that is where it should be fixed.

“Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. ”
Revelation 2:5

Many people run to God, asking for forgiveness of their sins, but then they end up falling back to commit the same sin again. There was no repentance, only a regret, and a remorse for what happened.
You need to cut off whatever made you fall in the first place, whether it is a friendship, a computer, or a relationship.

  5. Thank you Mrs Viviane for the message I can see that sincere repentance is the only wepon that is needed to abandon sins. Feeling guilt or remorse makes a person to continue living a sinful life.
