How am I a slave if I am of God?

“How am I a slave if I am a child of God?” This might be the question in mind. ” How can I be a pastor’s wife, an assistant, tither, evangelist, part of the Youth Group, a leader, etc. And still be a slave? I will know the truth and the truth will set me free, how? This is for people who are in going through the process of deliverance, not for me! I already have the Holy Spirit, I had an encounter with God, I am in process of receiving the Holy Spirit, etc.”

You might be someone who is leaning on what you have conquered in the past, but literally you are a slave!

Let us find out why?

“They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?”
Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.
And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
“I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.
I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.” (John 8: 33-38)

It is very strong and explicit what the Lord Jesus says!

But when is it that I do not believe, do not listen, and do not submit to God’s voice? When we’re not sensitive to His voice or do not look to serve Him better, in fact, this makes us feel “attacked”. The Lord Jesus was not “attacking” them, He was telling them the truth!

Today, we can compare the Jews who belonged to the descendants of Abraham to those who rely on their title as bishop or pastor’s wife, an assistant for many years, or a Church member for so long. If you are reading these articles every week you will remember that on Friday, we talked about a true disciple, which are those who remain in the Word of the Lord Jesus. If we do not remain, I for example, even though I am Bishop Macedo’s daughter and Bishop Julio’s wife, and hold a certain position will never be free, I will be a slave.

What the Lord Jesus wants to convey is that He wants you to be free! If there is something that has made you captive, a situation that you cannot change, then you are a slave. You are not allowing the Word of God to abide in you. And there is something wrong! Do not stop reading!! Pay attention, do not feel offended, but solve the issue that is within you, this is how I solved mine! I had to be free because often we find things inside of us that are not pleasing to God.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.”

If I depend or am dominated by a feeling I become a slave of it. And I can only be free when I remain in God’s Word. For example, you may say that you were free from jealousy, okay. But perhaps today, you are proud, you do not submit to anyone, you do not want to start over and submit to learning again. So, literally it is like you are being a slave of your pride because it dominates you.

“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

You recognize for example, that what dominates you is your jealousy or inferiority complex you feel when you are among friends or whoever. You are feeling like this because at that moment the Word of God is only part of your conscience. In fact, sometimes, you even forget about It. You do not rebuke those feelings and say: “I do not want to feel like this! I rebuke it and want to remain in the words of the Lord Jesus, because by doing so I will truly be His disciple! I will be your disciple, my God. I will not let those bad feelings, those evil eyes, what I am seeing now, or what makes my behavior change dominate me. I do not accept! I want to live in your house, my Father! I want to live in peace and harmony with You”

There is a “War” between your feelings and taking possession of the Word of God!

Remember, God told His servants that the Kingdom of God must be taken by violence, that is, those who are stronger than all their feelings. If you really want to be free from everything that is enslaving you like the past, a trauma, whatever it is know one thing: You have to do your part! Make God a participant of this “War”. Talk, cry, cry out, and seek Him, but do not make yourself as the victim because you are not! Solve your problem by using your intelligent faith.

Every time you use an emotional faith you becomes the victim the “poor little one” that nobody understands. Every time you feel this way you are feeding the problem within and this is making you a slave! You will not be happy, have peace, you will live off of the circumstances and if they are not in your favor you will be tormented!

I, Viviane, do not accept to live as a slave. Literally you have to be free!

“I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.”

When do you seek to kill Jesus? When you hear the truth and you do not submit to it by allowing what is inside to prevail! When your mood changes because someone hurts you, or when you let someone spoil your day because you are worried about what they are thinking about you! Instead of being happy and enjoy the opportunities, no! You live cornered by your feelings and will stay there, until you revolt against it and realize you need to be free.

The Word of God has to be in us, no matter who it is! If It is not then, we will not overcome and will become slaves. We will never overcome our internal wars. You can even loose your salvation because you allow yourself to be led and dominated by your feelings, which are drawing you away from God.

The Lord Jesus never felt alone, precisely because He pleased the Father. You feel alone and misunderstood because you allow your reason and feelings to dominate you. Do not allow this, instead allow the Word of God to wash you!

“I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.”

Do not allow your feelings to be your “father.” Instead, allow God to be the Father and wash you!

Solve what has to be resolved and do not be offended by the truth.

We’ll be back on Wednesday. Do not miss it! Leave your comment here, because I’m very happy to read what you have to say.
