Eating habits- discovering your mistakes

Last week I gave you a task. Let’s see what it was…

Every day you will write in a notebook or on your computer, phone, etc…

1. Time you wake up.
2. What you ate or drank and the time. I mean everything you put in your mouth.
3. Do not forget about water, coffee, desserts, candy, everything counts.
4. How long you are in front of the TV or computer.

Looking at your notes, how was your week? What flaws did you find in your eating habits?

I would like to hear from each one of you what mistakes you found in your eating habits so that I can help you.

Now that you found your mistakes what is your plan to correct them? Think there is no point in knowing the mistakes you committed without doing anything about it. You must have a plan to correct and change these errors, so you can once and for all get rid of these bad habits and acquire good ones!

I also discovered many bad eating habits in this journey. One, for example, was that I wouldn’t eat for long period at a time, I even thought that this would make me loose weight. It didn’t! Instead, I was gaining more weight every day.

Let us put this into consideration: We were all created by God and like everything that He created, we are intelligent beings, with unique functions. Our body is also very smart; each organ has its function and knows when there is a problem in the body. They all work together in a way that they are all affected by our habits whether good or bad.

So when you don’t eat for a long periods at a time your body starts storing everything you eat. It thinks that it has to stock up because it will not get food for a long time. Therefore, everything a person eats is stored.

By choosing to discipline ourselves we have to create the habit of having five meals a day:

  • Breakfast

  • Snack

  • Lunch

  • Snack

  • Dinner

[/starlist]

By doing this, the body will know that it doesn’t have to store anything because it will be getting food at the right time that is needed.

I had to change and discipline myself a lot to have a snack in between meals. It was something I had to get used to. To have fruit or yogurt even though I wasn’t hungry I had to eat, because if didn’t eat for a long time I would want to devour an entire cake. I put my cell phone and computer to remind me to eat snacks and after some time it turned into a habit.

When we have snacks in between meals, we have more control over what we eat at mealtime. That was my experience in this journey. I would like to hear yours.

Next Wednesday I will be answering any questions left here.

Until next time.
