Day 9 – Who is God?

Hello to all the cybernauts, today is already the 9th day of the Fast. And if you have pursued your goal, you are stronger. You’ve put things in third place, and concerning your goal—you have done everything, EVERYTHING to achieve what you want! Whether you are already baptized with the Holy Spirit as well as you who are in search of the Holy Spirit.

Today I want to talk about who God is…

The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”

Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”

And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why are You talking with her?”

The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” Then they went out of the city and came to Him. (John 4. 25 – 30).

The great observation that I’ve made here is something that many of you are saying out there: “I know that God is seeking worshipers who worship Him in spirit and in truth, I know, I know this, I know that.”

And many lose their opportunity because they think they know, but to practice it they do little. So that you may know God, it’s not just about having that feeling that you know. You have the knowledge like many Christian who believe they know God, they know several Bible verses; however, their life is like if they didn’t know God.

And Jesus said: “I am…” Because she did not identify that He was Jesus, she thought Jesus was a prophet.

“I who speak to you am He.”
And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one questioned…”

Nobody asked anything to this woman, not even why Jesus was talking to this woman … but observe an interesting thing that caught my attention:

“So the woman left her waterpot and went into the city and told the men:

Come, see a man who told me all things that I ever did … ”

That is, the woman who had had five husbands and the 6th was not hers, now, instead of being worried about staying there at Jesus’s feet, saying, “then if you are God! I ‘ll worship you here and now!”. …What did she do? This woman left her waterpot—the pot was where she was going to carry the water home, to eat, drink, enjoy the water, it was her livelihood, the pot was her future. And what did this woman do? She left her water pot.
“So the woman left her waterpot and went into the city and told the men…” That is, she went right where her trauma was, which was with men, in her love life, she went and spoke to them:

“Come, see a man who told all things that I ever did…”

When you have an encounter with God, and not just once in your life…I’ll explain something…an encounter is when He reveals who He is, when He shows you not only who He is, but also what you still need to resign. And when Jesus said, “I am…” the Messiah…He confirmed it. Jesus didn’t say anything like, “go there and talk to those men…” no! But that woman immediately took action, an attitude that she hadn’t taken before, which was justly talking with men.

Those men, who symbolized her traumas, imagine 5 men… to a divorced person, a betrayed woman…have you realized how she would be? Normally she carries this inside her in regards to other close relationships, if she was mistreated, if she passed through abuse during her childhood, she also carries this when married, why? Because this trauma is present within her, and she only perceives this when she is revolted with her own attitudes, when she no longer wants to be that unjust person she has been.

And this woman, when she went to the city to talk to the men…instead of talking to women, she spoke to the men…she did just that which was her weakness and called them:

“Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did.”

That is, pay attention…when you relate, when you seek, when you become interested for the things of God, you find answers. He makes you see what you’ve never seen before.

I saw comments from several people here. In particular, there was a comment of a woman who wrote here on the blog, she said she is 40 years old, and always was concerned with her love life. And she understood that she shouldn’t stay hunting because what she was looking for was water, which would make her thirst again…and that at the right time, God was going to bring the person. Because when you are anxious, the things become distant. Instead of receiving the blessing, the blessing is further, why? Because you’re anxious, you fear of not reaching it, that is, there is no manifestation of faith.

But when you are active in your faith, you see what no one was able to tell you. That is, you see what nobody showed you. You see yourself and you change your role…you change your attitudes, and it’s not something forced, it’s as if you were to have to give a fruit from the tree, not as if you had to bring a child into the world, with difficulty—it’s not like that!

When a tree has a fruit, it doesn’t grow with difficulty! It begins sprouting and that bud develops and it becomes a fruit on the tree. And we are like that too!

When you have a relationship with God, when such a relationship exists between you and God…which is what I see and perceive that people who claim to be baptized in the Holy Spirit, they lack; they allow things, needs, things that are missing, the things she wants to have, projects to have, she puts them as priority and forgets to be attentive to the voice of God, and that is why she lives thirsty, anxious, full of doubts, fearful and doesn’t discover anything.

She is in the church, has nothing to talk to God about, because she doesn’t manifest her faith…she is a religious person, who does everything apparently “right”, in her own eyes, but there are many things hidden within her.

My cybernaut friend, to find Jesus, you have to interact like that woman—she sought, although in her own way, but she sought, she was thirsty. And when she found Him, and when she saw that Jesus was the Messiah, that He was talking about something that no other prophet, no one, was able to speak…He spoke about her life, He managed to see her!

And that’s how it is when we begin to love God. I began to love God…I made Him be more part of my life, more…that’s when I had an encounter with God—when I realized that He saw inside of me, He knew everything that had happened to me, He knew my reactions, He knew everything, more than myself! And He said it to me! Directly to me! He said, “Viviane, you’re are like this, you are like that…” And when I heard it from Him, I took an immediate attitude like that woman, who went and did what she hadn’t done before.

That is, that bitterness…that which made her stagnant, which made her be still in faith, made her take a strong attitude in her life. She did not fear what men would think of her, because at that time it was something out of the ordinary…what that woman did was unusual. Not to take advantage of those men, but to talk about what God had spoken to her, that which God was seeing inside her…she wanted to convey that.

And it’s the same when you have that…when it happens to you, you want to pass it on to people…that joy, that truth. The truth…because the truth hurt, it was painful, but it was what liberated her, what made her solve what she hadn’t resolved before.

¿Did you understand? Was it clear? Well my cybernaut friend, I hope you have understood… and that you participate, don’t just be a listener, but practice everything that you’ve learned. Have fear in the way you talk with Him, honor your word with God, with men and go further into what is worth.

It is to give yourself, entirely to God, don’t be distrustful, do not be afraid to talk about your past, because the more you talk, the more you interact…more free you will be, more happy you are going to be.

So you have nothing to lose, you’re only going to win.

A big hug to all of you and until tomorrow.

  1. I want to get something off my chest. I want God, l truly want to serve Him on the altar. But their things in my character that will prevent the Holy Spirit from coming inside of me.
I abandoned the things of the flesh things like lust of the flesh and greed. I put an effort to obey the word of God. I would say that I’m not living in sin anymore. However there are many things still preventing the Holy Sprite from coming inside of me.
It is my character, I’m a very lazy person who loves to eat junk food and l find it difficult do things like tidying up my room and maintaining it clean, fasting and reading the bible everyday seems very hard for me and that is affecting me a lot in nearly all areas of my life.

  2. Hello Mrs. Viviane,

Thank you for this post. I had been wishy-washy when I shouldn’t be. I should have acted in faith and remained in faith instead of allowing the problems that I faced to annul my faith. I agree with you. I have those encounter with God. And many times, He did show me who I am. I had been blind that He had been working in me. I have allowed the mistake that I see in me to put a doubt in my heart that I am of Him. Thank you Mrs. God answered my prayer again through you. God bless!

  3. What you mentioned here Mrs Viviane is really important. Having an encounter with God isn’t just a once off thing and also not an emotion. It’s an eperience one carries with her for life because God shows Himself but trully to us. After all that that Samaritan woman went through, she showed courage and went to the very place that was unpleasant to speak about her encounter with Jesus. It showed me bravery and strength that despite her past, she went and confessed her Jesus to others without being told to.
I pray that God may allow me to grow as the Samaritan woman grew.
Thank you Mrs Viv. Very much appreciated
