A feeling called Fear

Another feeling that hurt me for years was fear. I knew that my son had problems, but the fact of being sure of what it was and everyone knowing, frightened me.

Fear is able to imprison us within ourselves and keep us from solving problems that often are the beginning of a new life, and that is precisely why the devil works in it, because he is the only one that wants to see us enslaved. This evil feeling blocked me for six months…meanwhile Gabriel only worsened.

I even tried to figure it out by sizing it up, but when I read something about it and saw myself close to the answer, fear surfaced and I would then close the computer and stop; until the day that the situation became unbearable!!

I got mad at myself; I was furious against this feeling, and in thinking about how I allowed myself to stagnate because of it thus stopping from helping my son. What is more important: continuing to live inside a bubble or popping it and moving on?

So I tied up the fear and determined that it would come out from me, all it took was a prayer of faith, all it took was an attitude of revolt against what didn’t do me any good.

Then I had to act contrary to it and fill myself with courage to open the site and read it line after line, in order to get to know my son and get up to fight.

Dear friend and mother, the fear of finding out something that your child has or is doing, can stop you from helping him, so overcome it as soon as possible. Have the courage to know the truth about him…after all; the Lord Jesus told us that the truth would set us free. And that actually happens, it frees us in order to move on, breaking down barriers and making a difference.

Overcome fear and get out of your “bubble”!

Next week we will continue to speak about one more feeling that only hinders us. Until then…

  1. Fear … can definitely stop us from really going further, but we always have to take that attitude of revolts and fight against it.
