Why does God ask for something so difficult?

We are here to directly respond the question: Why does God ask for something so difficult?

“Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?”

And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”

Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.” (Ex.3: 13-15)

What God asks of us, in fact, is for us to get out of the “box”, the place we think we can never leave because we believe we are not capable of dealing with certain situations and experience others due to our past, etc.

When God asks us for something it is so that we can be in total dependence on Him. There is no need to be afraid of the challenge that lies ahead, or what others will think of what God is asking you. The only thing you have to do is obey. And when there is obedience there is reverence. You have the certainty that, God wants the best for you and knows the best way to help you.

There is no need to be afraid of acting on your faith. Faith will always be challenging and will never make you invest in what you are use to already. Faith makes you leave your comfort zone and safety net. The reason for this is so you can trust and throw yourself in the Word of God.

Everything that God has asked me for was apparently hard for me, and at times it even seemed unfair of Him to ask . This is also what happened to Moses, a fugitive from Egypt, he would have to return to pass on to the people the need to sacrifice on Mount Sinai, and lead them to the Promised Land. Who would he have to talk to? He had to face the highest authority of Egypt, whom he previously had fled from.

When God asks you for something it is not for you to run away from it, but so you can overcome your fears. He always did this to me and He will continue to do so, so I can grow and stay in His total dependence. The more we are in His dependence, the more we improve as a person and the more secure we become! Because we are all subject to have insecurities, but we get rid of them when we obey, challenge ourselves and are sensitive to the voice of God.

Run to embrace God! He is with you. Believe!

I was recently speaking with my son about how people believe more in their problems and incapacities, which limits them and does not let them do certain things. But faith is not limited! It is the assurance of things hoped for. It has nothing to do with the circumstances around you or whatever is inside of you.

Especially you, who is baptized with the Holy Spirit, whom God has given power, you can bring into existence what does not exist by exercising your faith. But on the contrary, even if you are of God and baptized with the Holy Spirit, you will remain stagnant, without achieving anything, and even run the risk of losing your salvation, because you have not putting your faith in action. Consequently, the tendency is to become an “old prophet.”

The challenges and difficult situations you have to face and solve are a privilege and an opportunity to show your belief in the living God!
