To serve (Part V)

Whoever is baptized with the Holy Spirit is guided by Him that is if one compares their faith to the Word of God.
Faith itself requires answers! I sought results from the faith I had, but because there was none I continued to be in “debt” and frustrated.
People always told me otherwise, they told me that I helped them, but no spoken words gave me the facts. Therefore I could not deceive myself.
I lived dissatisfied with everything! Because the thing that I believed in the most was nonexistent until I made a final decision to sacrifice what I lacked to surrender, and that brought the answers I needed.
It’s human nature to only want to be served… but this is not the role of a servant! The more responsibilities you have, the more you will have to serve and the less time you will have for yourself.
What does it mean to truly SERVE?
A certain day the Lord Jesus went to wash the disciples’ feet, and here is what happened:
“Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to Him, “Lord, are You washing my feet?” Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.” Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” (John 13: 6-8)
Each week we will address one point in this verse, which will show a characteristic of a servant.
What did the Lord Jesus mean when He said that if He did not wash their feet, they would have no part with Him?
It means that if He did not give Himself to His disciples, there would be no way to relate to them and help them, because in a relationship, there must be an unconditional surrender from someone’s part. The Lord Jesus had the Father’s DNA, from God Himself; therefore He had to give first to receive.
The first situation is the most difficult one, to understand and see the need of others.
The disciples were not easy to deal with, because they did not have the Holy Spirit and because of that they were dominated by selfishness and pride.
Therefore, the Lord Jesus had to do it all… He had to understand them, He had to be patient, teach, invest, urge them, etc.
Those who do things well done are looking for others to do the same!
The Lord Jesus was perfect, but could not demand the same of His disciples unless He taught and gave Himself to them first.
The disciples’ problems were a way of Jesus coming “on stage” and serve them.
In the next post we will talk about the difficulty human beings have to understand the each other; how they get tired of doing good!
To be continued next week.

YES! For me to receive I have to give out first, and for me to truly serve I have to truly give out my self. thank you.

the more responsibility the servant has,the more she serves God.
