To serve (Part III)

How can I give life, if I am “dead”?

How could I be dead?

You are only aware of the Word of God but there is nothing new in your life. You read the Bible, coming quickly to a “conclusion” of what it means, but in your day to day you don’t compare what you read with your life. You increase your knowledge but you hinder your relationship with God.

You act with an emotional faith, thinking you are doing the right thing. You talk about what you read but have difficulties in solving your problems, which you consider “normal”. You have knowledge of the Word of God only to fulfill your religious duties, but do not apply it in your own life.

Your aim is usually to help others or to work on your realization, but you do not invest on your inner being, because you think you are a “good person” who is always attentive to all who is around you, and that’s enough to be “good with God”.

The fact is that you do not live in a renewal of life. Your experiences are only with the power of God, for example the deliverance of an addiction, the cure of a disease, the family member that converts, etc., but there is nothing that is connected to your own relationship with God. There is nothing that involves your being.

Reading the Bible no longer brings you satisfaction, praying does not give you the answers, you no longer have pleasure in seeking God, and your praise does not express a sincere love for God. But you still use supposedly convincing words such as: “The Bible brings me satisfaction”; “God is blessing”; “I am seeking God;” I am in the fight “, etc.

When we hear that person praise God, we realize what kind of relationship they have with God. Their words do not express the truth from within, but only that they know how to praise.

Truly, that person has no idea what he or she is doing. And do you know why?

  1. Spiritual death… this is just being another additional member in the church but having lost the real first love of God that can really change my life for the best. when i see myself doing things of God anyhow and not bearing the expected results then i will know i am now dead.

  3. I learned that I should have a relationship with God and not to an emotional person but a person of faith in God and the fulfilment of his promises in my life.

  4. Thank for sharing with us Mrs Viviane, from this post I understood that by just reading or knowing the teachings of God does not mean that I have a relationship with God.

  5. the massage is very strong ,in our faith we must be like children every day to be willing to learn. reading the bible every day each chapter must be like you are reading it for the first time regardless how many times you read that bible scripture.

  6. It all begins with me. I have to be a living example of whatever I say and I also have to be a representative of the promises of God. The greatness of God that I tell people about has to be living in me so in order to be able to help others I have to be well first. But this above all things to seek God first and put him first in my everyday life.
