The 40-Day Challenge : Day 17

“God needs times to work on us. We need to give Him space, without anxiety, worries or doubts.” — Viviane Freitas
And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her house. Now Elizabeth’s full time came for her to be delivered, and she brought forth a son. When her neighbors and relatives heard how the Lord had shown great mercy to her, they rejoiced with her. So it was, on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child; and they would have called him by the name of his father, Zacharias. His mother answered and said, ‘No; he shall be called John.’” (Luke 1:56-60)

There’s a time for everything.

Although Elizabeth wanted to see her child very much, she could not shorten the time. She had to wait, like any other pregnant woman.

Most women become anxious and make hasty decisions very easily, and this is what makes them weak in their faith.

Belief in God is associated with peace, trust and assurance. It has nothing to do with anxiety.

When you believe in God, you know how to wait for the right time — the time of God!

Belief in God brings definition. Every time you are divided, you become weak in your faith and run the risk of falling away.

Our feelings are a powerful weapon against ourselves.

“When her neighbors and relatives heard how the Lord had shown great mercy to her, they rejoiced with her.”

No one rejoices over an ordinary event; but when it’s difficult, challenging, or impossible, and a miracle happens, people rejoice with us.

You may even think that just because you’re participating in the 40-Day Challenge your life will change overnight… But this is not true!

The 40-Day Challenge is opening your eyes and clearing your mind. It’s giving you a direction, pointing you to the Truth.

And when we find a problem in us, we feel happy, not because of the problem, but because we can now see what is inside of us.

There’s a time for everything, dear friend.

The 40-Day Challenge is a seed. It’s teaching you to think and to examine yourself. You will no longer trust your feelings; instead, you will be more watchful and for sure you will value the Word of God more.

“No; he shall be called John.”

For sure, the child would be named after his father, Zacharias. But when a person believes in God, he or she is not shaken by what other people say or think.

When you do not know what they want, you are irresolute, vulnerable, and weak.

You cannot rely on people to tell you what you should do. You yourself have to make your own choices, be decisive.

But how can I do this? you ask.

First, you need to have a goal.

Ask yourself what you want and then ask God what you need to do to achieve it.

There are many people around us who are of two minds, childish, and insecure — like the ones who tried to persuade Elizabeth to give up on her belief.

Elizabeth remained firm; she obeyed and persevered until the end. She was not worried about other people’s opinions.

Time is enemy number one of people who are anxious.

Either we listen to what other people say or we listen to the voice of faith that is inside of us. We have to be clear about what we want.

Examine yourself. Look at how you react when faced with difficult situations.

Who do listen to, your heart or the voice of God?
What words come out of your mouth?
Are you decisive or indecisive?

  1. God works on us. We just need to patiently wait and give Him space to make a better change for us. We must not let anxiety, doubts and worries come to us cos it will delay His plan for us.
Listening to negative comments that other people say will just make us worry and will come to the point that we are bored enough to stop believing. That’s why, we must deaf our ears whenever that happened.
Thank you for this message Mrs Vivi. God bless you and your family:)

  2. Thank you Mrs Vivi

I have been watchful and in control of what I feel in this 40-day challenge and I have received a broad understanding of things that I didnt really take note of. I trsu in God more now and I belittle my emotions a lot because they have misled me in many way. Just as Mary didn’t listen to what others were saying but remained calm and in wait, I will also wait for the right time, the time of God.#Doing my challenge 17#

Things which eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him

  5. Relying on God’s time is definately the best. I have made so many hasty decisions in my past and had to suffer the consequences.

Now I speak gods guidance on everything that I do. when I feel that my emotions are taking over I ask God to remove the anxiety and seek spritual guidance.

We must sow the good seed and wait for the results to produce in God’s time…..Because God’s time is the best!!!!
