Looking for a problem where it does not exist

“Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?”
Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.”
He said, “I am he.”
Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?”
He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.”
Then they said to him, “Where is He?”
He said, “I do not know.”
The Pharisees Excommunicate the Healed Man
They brought him who formerly was blind to the Pharisees.
Now it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes.
Then the Pharisees also asked him again how he had received his sight. He said to them, “He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.”
Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.”
Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And there was a division among them.
They said to the blind man again, “What do you say about Him because He opened your eyes?”
He said, “He is a prophet.”
(John 9: 8-17)

See the blind man was healed, and the people instead of seeking the One who can heal, they brought him to the Pharisees and questioned what happened. The Pharisees were looking for a reason to prosecute Jesus. They wanted to comply with their law of not working on the Sabbath not because they feared their God. On the contrary! If they feared God they would be happy to witness the healing of this man.

Often what happens is that you, reader, question certain things and demand to know why certain situations are happening. God asks you for something and you ask, “why?” Or something happens outside the “normal” and immediately you ask questions. You don’t understand…

This has happened to me in various situations, I did not understand what God wanted, but when one recognizes Him as the Author of our life we trust that He knows what is best, then there is no worrying about what He does.

The Pharisees were jealous of Jesus because He did what they could not. Jesus healed and they do not! They had been accompanying the blind man, but when he was healed he became a problem for them!

For example, there are those who have been freed from drugs, and while they were still addicts there were not much trouble to others, but when they accept to serve the One who saved them they become a big threat.

You have to use your intelligent faith, because emotional faith can be used at any time, since we are human beings and “feel” fear, insecurity, etc. The religious Pharisees of that time greatly feared the Lord Jesus. And when there is extreme fear problems that do not exist are seen, either because of envy or fear. When these feelings prevail inside there are consequent reactions of “attack” against someone else. For example, when you envy someone like a beautiful woman with a beautiful body, hair, eyes, skin, etc. Upon comparing yourself to her admirable beauty you begin to despise her by saying she is not pretty, but deep down you admire her. These are made up problems that are the consequences of those feelings.

Nobody chose his or her skin, eyes and hair. We are born the way we were formed. So do not try to eliminate the obvious if the person is beautiful why ignore them? If she has something to give, or if Jesus healed her why are you trying to cause problems or asking question, being suspicious or envious? When, deep down every one desires these positive results!

The problem is that you were not the one who did it that is why you end up envying the other person. See how human beings are bad! You think a person is good or that there is good in people? We think that about ourselves! But the Lord Jesus said good is only the Father!

I never forget that someone once told me, “Good is only the One who is in heaven.” That awoke me and blessed me. It is true the only good One is Jesus, God. This is why we need to be saved. If you are developing your faith know that you will achieve salvation, not by your own abilities, but because you need and depend on God. Not only because you are “good”.

Do not create problems where they do not exist! If, for example, you now realize you are envious of someone because they have characteristics that you are lacking do not react in a wrong way, because this will create problems for yourself through your evil eyes, and you will not please God. On the contrary, you will attract darkness – the devil – in your life.

Many people become demon-possessed because they exchanged God for the evil eyes. Do not be like that. Be of noble spirit!

I await your comment. I am very grateful for your participation.

If you have an ambitious spirit, are religious, jealous, fearful, there is a way to change your story, by obeying and submitting to the Word of God that brings life!

  2. A great miracle was done in the sight of the pharisees but they didn’t even care at all, they were just too worried about the law. Sometimes I make a BIG deal out of something that is so insignificant and I become like those pharisees, I miss the REAL blessing that God wants to give me. I remember that sometimes I would get a blessing from God and I will constantly ask Him, is this really for me? Will I lose this? What if I can’t handle it etc … basically I question God like the pharisees questioned Him and I have to be careful because it’s like I am insulting God’s choices. The bible says in Psalm 10:22 The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it – In other words, when God blesses, He really blesses, we don’t need to question or wonder about anything, we should thank Him for what He has done and move on and this applies even more to when He blesses others… who are we to question His choices… He knows what He is doing…

  4. Hello Mrs. Viviane,

What a beautiful message! First I learned that I need to trust God in circumstances I don’t understand. Next is God is the only ONE that is good. Your message today is a problem solver for me. 🙂

Actually today, I am going through this situation. I think I had been creating problems where there is none. I had feelings of fear and insecurity in my heart and jealousy that I could not point out before. With this revelation also comes the knowledge of pride. Deep down in my heart I am proud! No wonder I had envious eyes, I did not mean to. Do not even want to have.

A special thanks to the Lord Jesus.

Thank you very much for this message. 🙂

  5. Many times things happen but we don’t believe because we do not see for ourself , as I was reading this I thought sometimes when the Bp or the Pr tells us to do something that looks impossible for us we don’t do it because we don’t believe or we want to see someone else achieve it first before we try, but I have also realised that at that minute I need to act or the very next day when we leave things too long the blessing goes.

But when outsiders tell us to do something we are quick to do it. We live by faith not to please man or his understanding so we will always come across people who will discourage us but if we continue acting upon his word we can not go wrong.

The Pharisees it seemed like they wanted the man to doubt if what had happened was real and of course they were embarrassed because they could not do the same works even though they were “men of God” we need to always think intelligently first before we act, if God gave us dominion over all things then everything that He does should be for us not against us so the sabbath works for us not the other way round. I believe that they were worried upset that the blind man would not depend on them anymore that they would not be seen to be helping, and that’s how we/I can be sometimes we depend on many things “man” but we don’t depend on God and give Him the glory.

  6. I think humans have a natural tendency to over look, misunderstand, and confuse situations. I speak for myself, I tend yo not like what I don’t understand and I wait a while before researchng what I don’t like, and when I go that my eyes look at things negatively, because I’m trying to figure it out. So what I ask for God to do is to open my understanding and not allow my eyes to judge negativity but yo look at the positive side of everything.
