Jacob’s life – Day 14

Hello, again everyone, we’re on the 14th day talking about Jacob’s life.

“And he arose that night and took his two wives, his two female servants, and his eleven sons, and crossed over the ford of Jabbok. He took them, sent them over the brook, and sent over what he had.” (Gn.32: 22.23)

Day 14 – Jacob’s struggle with God

Jacob was a fugitive, but now he stood up!

Notice what we do when we’re in the faith: There are no words or complaining, but action, like Jacob, when he made everyone and everything cross the brook.
Perhaps they thought, “Jacob is going to be all alone?” “He’s not coming with us?” Whether or not he had to explain to them it doesn’t matter, but this shows us that when we are in the faith, we don’t have any feelings of concern. Like Jacob, we have a problem to solve and it’s personal, therefore we separate ourselves and remain confident.

He stood up and faced his frustrations. Every time he was deceived he remembered his own deceit and every time he faced a difficulty he remembered how many times he choose to do what was wrong.

. When we have an objective in mind there is no “blah, blah, blah” but an inner strength that is beyond us, which is the Spirit of God!

. When we take action God is present in our lives. This faith becomes a piece of God inside of us.

. When we surrender ourselves 100%, we don’t wait around for time to go by because we live in the PRESENT!

“…He took them, sent them over the brook, and sent over what he had…”

When we are alone with God, we don’t rely on anything else. We do this because we know what the outcome will be and therefore we have no doubts or fears. There is no crying, tears, fear or worry about the future.

There is an absolute certainty! And because of this the Holy Spirit can act.

This act of faith is the Spirit of God working through you. It’s already an answer! But through fear and doubts you show your essence.

I’m sure you’ve already noticed. I’ve seen it. I’ve had my normal spirit of fear, anxiety, sadness, frustration, just like I’ve seen my defined, strong, audacious, and bold side, which was completely different!

This happens when we are defined and we hate sin and decide to be righteous before God. This will be immediately revealed through our actions.

A big hug for all, tomorrow we will be back.

  1. Since I started following this blog, I opened up with God about not hating my sin and asked Him to give me a hatred. Recently I have noticed a deep hatred and disgust toward my inner most thoughts and feelings which oppose the word of God. I am fighting to overcome it and in the Ford of Jabbok, I believe I can do it.
