But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.  And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”  Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them. (John 10:2-6)

You might be asking? “But didn’t you read these passages on Monday?” Yes! We will repeat it today in a different way, so that you may see the perspective of God and not just of the sheep.

God is at the door and the “sheep” has to draw close to listen. He is with open arms! He just doesn’t wait for you to do everything for yourself and come and meet Him. From the moment you go to Him, passing through the “door”, He goes before you to guide you. You are not left alone!

Many people are afraid to give themselves entirely to God because they think that God will not meet their desires, pleasures and needs; that they will never have the pleasure of having satisfied their own will. That’s what they think! When God leads them out, He strips them from that which doesn’t allow them to develop.

They ask themselves: “will I not satisfy my desire to have a sexual relationship with my boyfriend? How could that be? If I surrender myself to Jesus, how will it be after? And what if I feel lonely and feel the need for someone? Jesus will fulfill that?”

In order to follow Jesus in obedience, there must be a belief. And that way she is led out of the “box “. When she leaves, He will guide her! And that is what to you, at first, is sacrificial, like giving up sex with your boyfriend, your wills… Really, at the beginning it is a sacrifice, but it’s worth it! If the way you have lived until now has given you good results, then you wouldn’t be seeking God. Your way has not brought you any good. So, why not risk it, get out of that life and go “out “, obeying the voice of God? That way He will be in front of you so that you can follow Him.

Do you know why I follow Jesus? Because I win when I do that. I don’t come out loosing! I’ve resigned many interior pleasures that brought me nothing good, but in reality, when I handed these “pleasures” over, I won. I became buoyant, happy, with a high self – esteem, confident, without accusations and torments … I gained peace, I became a balanced person, I have a family and today, it is what I transmit to you. And why? Because, I chose to follow Him.

My will made me be very bad… egocentric; I created problems because of my wills. But from the moment I began to follow Him, by my personal decision and not because of religion, I became disciplined, with a clean heart, pure, because God has cleansed me from all dirtiness, bitterness, from all the past. I’m sure that the person who did not give themselves lives tormented, with a guilty conscience and cannot seem to be happy.

In order to be happy, you must pay the price! The “sheep” followed Him because they recognized His voice. God works but you must take the first step. You have to listen, obey, and thus He will be waiting with open arms!
What you thought God would not fulfill, He will give you much more. I ‘m proof of that: I thought that God would not meet my needs, but he made me get more than what I could imagine.

A big hug to you and I’ll see you Friday.

  1. Sometimes we think our ways are better because we are the ones living the life but we forget God knows what He is doing. He knows exactly what we need to be truly happy. Trusting in God is not easy but it will all be worth it at the end.

When we do our own will we mess up, very badly. Now in all I’m doing He is guiding me, each day He speaks, He directs. The peace, joy, the assurance He gives me makes me so calm and so sure .
