Envy makes someone exclude themselves and intelligence does not

“But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind and received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight. And they asked them, saying, “Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?”
His parents answered them and said, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind; but by what means he now sees we do not know, or who opened his eyes we do not know. He is of age; ask him. He will speak for himself.” His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed that He was Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue. Therefore his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”
So they again called the man who was blind, and said to him, “Give God the glory! We know that this Man is a sinner.”
He answered and said, “Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.”
Then they said to him again, “What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?”
He answered them, “I told you already, and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His disciples?”
Then they reviled him and said, “You are His disciple, but we are Moses’ disciples. We know that God spoke to Moses; as for this fellow, we do not know where He is from.”
The man answered and said to them, “Why, this is a marvelous thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He has opened my eyes! Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind. If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing.”
They answered and said to him, “You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?” And they cast him out.” (John 9: 18-34)

When a person is envious, they exclude themselves from God’s plan.

God came to save everyone, but each person decides if they include or exclude themselves from the plan of salvation. If a person insists on being envious they will have feelings of inferiority.

When we do not use our intelligent faith, we are subject to use an emotional faith, which makes our personality, character or behavior not be included in the plan of salvation. For example, there are people who feel inferior to others, eventually envying them. The way they defend themselves and increase their self-esteem is to speak badly of those they envy. And by looking for a see reason or mistake to condemn them with, thus creating dissension and trouble. They do not see that their problem is inside.

The problem was not that the Jews held the Sabbath sacred, it was the envy they felt because Jesus had done what they could not. They did not manifest their faith and therefore could not be used by God.

Imagine if someone comes along to take your place and plays the role of a “man of God” that you did not. How would you feel? Envious! A person’s who reacts this way does not submit to serving God, but to serve only himself or herself.

When they called the blind man, they said to give glory to God. They did not see realize they were wrong!

When we use an emotional faith, we do not realize we are wrong.

We are not reading the Word of God to condemn the Jews and Pharisees, but to realize who they were and how they reacted. If you are envious, and separate yourself from others you are the one who will lose out. You will have bad eyes, hold a grudge, and have a burden.

The blind man was a free man! He did not have to stay in the synagogue to please them. He was cured and acknowledged that Jesus healed him.

“Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind. If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing.”

He took on his faith! I appreciate and applaud this faith, not giving him glory, but because he believed he became independent and strong.

This is intelligent faith and this makes us be chosen by God. It makes us righteous before Him.

Many are not realistic or righteous because they use an emotional faith. This does not please God, because who can help when anyone who loves and defends what is unrighteous like emotions? If your emotions help you would not be suffering the way you are.

Use your intelligence! When you feel something contrary to what you should feel, think. Act with intelligent faith, because God is pleased when we base ourselves in what is righteous, because He is righteous, the Truth, and the Light!

Whoever accepts the Light, accepts the truth, and accepts what is righteous and they submit to learning. The Jews and Pharisees did not want to learn, they wanted to impose their rules. And if you are like them you will lose out because you exclude yourself.

I hope, friend, that you do not exclude yourself!

I will await your comments. Will you exclude yourself? What will you do to change that? Will you confront the feelings that are there from the past, from someone’s comments, or result of your five senses?

I leave you this space to think and comment.

  1. i think its all about our intentions in God. we all have different intentions. With wrong and selfish intentions one excludes himself or herself, BUT with good intentions, our eyes are good, we remain abiding in JESUS and in an intelligent faith.
thank you for the post. am blessed.

  2. I’ve never come across this verse in the Bible before but it is an eye opener. The man who was healed from blindness was bold to say what he said regardless of the consequences, he used his intelligent faith. It is hard to go again what you feel or to to what you know is right but it is doable which means I can also go against my feelings and emotions to allow myself to be part of God’s plan. It is hard but I know God will be with me as I act on my intelligent faith.
    Thank you.

  4. Wow very strong, this message tells me that If I’m envious and start separating myself,I’m the one who will lose out, I’ll end up having bad eyes, holding grudges, which will lead me to hell (which is something I don’t want) . Looking back at the Jews and Pharisees they didn’t want to learn, they wanted to impose their rules. And if I’m like them I will lose out because I exclude myself. How will God help me if I exclude myself? There’s no way He will help me, God is always there to help us, that’s why I took a decision not to exclude myself, becasue I know, I need God’s help to make it in life. Thanks for sharing Vivi.

  5. This is an inspiration to me. Intelligent faiths gives birth to humility. Instead of envying others -a person will be willing to learn from those who are doing good. Emotional faith gives birth to envy-that is pride. An envious person will never learn or see good in others. These people will remain stuck in their religious faith like the pharisees. They never performed the miracles that Jesus did because of their envy. But the disciples did miracles because they were ready to learn and act what they had seen Jesus doing.

  6. Thank you for the message Mrs. Viviane. I never thought that envy can be associated with exclusion, but after reading your message I realize that they go hand in hand, because when someone is envious he/she cannot stand to be in the same place with the person whom they envy and they always try to find fault with that person. I’m learning that the only way for me not to be trapped in envy is to value what God has blessed me with, is to believe in myself and my abilities and not to look at those who are around me to see what they are doing. I’m learning that I have to be confident in everything that I do and also involve God through it all because that way I will be sure that I’m being lead by Spiritual Faith and not emotional faith which is lead by the flesh.

    Thank you Mrs. Viviane
