Assistant, what is your mission?

In today’s assistants post, I would like to guide you to think about a topic that we all lived this past Sunday, and by the way, I hope that you lived that same thought. Well, to enter into this topic, I would like to ask you the following question: Why is it that you have the Holy Spirit?
Over the years, unfortunately, many divert from the main focus and let themselves be carried away by their own thoughts, which reveal personal interests and worldly satisfaction, leaving aside the real and true purpose for which they were called.
Here is the answer to the question asked:
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Isaiah 61: 1-3
Observe the mission of those who have the Spirit of God upon them, which is not only for their own benefit, but purposely to:
PREACH good tidings to the poor;
HEAL the brokenhearted;
PROCLAIM liberty to the captives;
OPENING of the prison to those who are bound;
PROCLAIM the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God;
COMFORT all who mourn;
CONSOLE those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty of ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
I highlighted in large font the first words so that you understand that the Holy Spirit is ACTION! He is not upon us for us to be just standing in uniform to “parade” across the salon, or waiting for the people to come to us. No! On the contrary, we are the watchmen that must go to the broken, the captives, those who are bound, who mourn, in short, to those who are in darkness … this is the true mission of the assistant!
I would like for you to be honest with yourself: have you truly and in fact fulfilled this mission? Or do you recognize that you are far from this reality for which you are being held responsible?

I meditated in this passage and it’s soo true. Because we were given the Holy Spirit for Him to do through us what He wills to do to these people.
To be honest there were moments when I would walk past for example a beggar and it wouldn’t sit well with me because I knew I could have told this person about the church and even more about God. I will be honest to say I need to let the Holy Spirit use me more!

Very true Mrs. Viviane. We assistants tend to go astray once being raised or having a lot of years being assistants. We tend to do our own will and not the will of God. We tend to forget the main purpose God filled us with His Spirit. But, thank you very much for sharing this message with us. It’s some how a wake up call to all assistants. For us to go back to our roots with the Holy Spirit. Thank you.

This is very true Mrs Viviane, many of us the assistants tend to lose focus of why we were called. This is why the relationship a person has with his creator is very important. So what we need to do is always check our life if we still remember why we were called by God.
Be blessed everyone!
