In the work of God, there are many assistants who are imprisoned by their limitations. Many live real conflicts within themselves. Their inquiries and doubts are constant.
“How can I tell if God is with me?”
“Am I counseling correctly?”
“Am I pleasing God?”
“How am I going to do this or that?”
“How to talk, how to evangelize?”
There are numerous questions that come to mind, when facing different situations.
Gideon asked God for a sign, after the assertion that God gave him,
” And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.” Then he said to Him, “If now I have found favor in Your sight, then show me a sign that it is You who talk with me.”
(Judges 6: 16-17)
Gideon asked for a sign and God asked him for a SACRIFICE.
” That same night the Lord said to him, “Take the second bull from your father’s herd, the one seven years old.[b] Tear down your father’s altar to Baal and cut down the Asherah pole[c] beside it. “(Judges 6:25)
In fact, the sacrifice to God is the answer to all our questions.
If I want to know how I’m going to overcome, if I want to be used by God and hurt the “Midianites” (problems, feelings of fear, doubts, insecurities etc.) as if they “one man”, that had no strength in his arm—the SACRIFICE is the SIGN that God is with me and that I will be an instrument in His hands, thus overcoming all my limitations.
That’s the answer! Make your Sacrifice, what you never did and never had the courage to do, and that you’ve kept for so long, especially within yourself … give that “second bull,” “tear down this “altar “of arrogance, pride, haughtiness you’ve built inside, and cut once and for all that relationship with the fantasies and everyday attractions that deceives so much. Honestly, I do not know what’s inside of you and that you must sacrifice, but I tell you that, it is what weakens you and does not allow you to grow.

This post i believe talks about overcoming myself because the doubts that i have just show that i am not sure of my place with God and who i am , it means my foundation is not stable and i should go deep inside myself to uproot the altar that is there as the post said spiritual mother the fear the pride etc is the things that prevent growth in a person.only through sacrifice i can do it woow that is amazing because most times i want to sacrifice material things but the spiritual ones are the ones that make the difference.

Sometimesmthoughts,came if I did things right, etc.
One Sunday I assisted an elderly in our church when he went to the front. After he went back to his seat, doubt started to come up like; was I gentle enough?, did I treat him well? was I patient enough?
But then I started to pray and fight the bad feelings that came up with the doubts. Linking this to what you said about Gideon, it’s true. I had to tear down that “altar of self-doubt and self-criticism” otherwise I will not grow.

Amen Mamoruti Sometimes I think I’m perfect but now I know it was baal in me I’ll do everything perfectly and I didn’t want anyone to find fault I’ll be hurt but this open my eyes because my prayer and sacrifice is to be humble enough to please God not myself.
