Today’s post was created responding to a mother who wrote to me since she accompanies us here, and also in my autism page.

She said:

“I never spoke to anyone in the family, nor do I want to, I prefer them to see my son as a normal child. I read your posts in Mrs. Vivi’s blog and I find myself in the same way, in a secret that no one knows.”

Dear Mom, you look at your child and do you see him different from other children? Your “maternal instinct” turns on the “red alert” whenever you see him with opposite attitudes compared to the natural conduct expected at his age? Is your child on drugs, alcohol, stealing, sick, etc., and you hide him, you don’t tell anyone thinking that like that you are “protecting him”?
I understand and agree with you, because we always want to protect them, but we have to evaluate, because the maternal protection may often, disrupt. In my case, it was like that! I not only hid Gabi with this thought, but I hid myself with him, I created a “ball” and we lived in there, stagnant.
It’s time to understand one thing: Whatever the problem your child has or is going through, hiding or closing your eyes will not help at all, on the contrary, you will only be “delaying” the healing or deliverance of him. It’s not trying to convince yourself, telling yourself that it’s nothing, or that it will pass, that everything will be fine and the situation will change … no! I did that and I can tell you that my son only got worse.

The only thing that will bring changes is if you take an attitude of Faith! Take advantage now and overcome your fear in this Fast of Daniel, stop caring about what others will think, but make a ” lemonade out of a lemon”, think well: “How would there be miracles, if there were no problems?” So look through the eyes of Faith! Believe, “Today they see my son like that, but through the change in him they’ll know the power of God. That’s it, “It’s going to be a hit”!!!
Your child needs you, a mother who assumes him the way he is, without fear and without shame. From the moment he feels this confidence in you, he will become more confident in himself and then he will open up to change.

God often uses something in order for the miracle to happen! He used the mud to put on the man’s eyes and cure him; the water to turn it into wine; Moses’ staff to turn it into a snake, then to touch the dust and make lice arise, to touch the sea and make it open … Now, God needs of you so that your child’s cure can happen.

And so…. What are you going to do?
Be the mother that your child needs!
