Drink plenty of water: An interesting fact is that many people drink only one glass of water per day and therefore are dehydrated. This is very bad for your health. Our body is made up of 75 % water; therefore, water is an essential element for a healthy life. Water helps every system of our body, especially your kidneys, it helps eliminate many toxins from the body.

. Don’t be too hard on yourself: Live your life, don’t be a slave of your food. Eating and drinking should be pleasant. They make your body and heart well, even if it’s chocolate or fries (maximum once a week).

. Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, and grains. These foods should be consumed fresh. If it’s possible plant them in your home. These foods are rich in fiber, minerals, vitamins and complex carbohydrates.

. Eat little amounts: Unless you’re an athlete and need large amount of calories per day you should eat in moderation. A normal person needs an average of about 2000 calories per day. Always keep that in mind so you don’t feed your body more that it needs. Anything extra you eat will be stored in your body.

. Make gradual changes in your eating habits: Like everything in life, it takes a little getting used to when you change your diet. Many diets don’t work precisely because they’re too radical. Make a meal plan. For example set a goal to change your eating habits in 6 months. The first month attempt to remove the excess fats and sweet and replace them with more vegetables and fruits and so on. Remember, don’t rush it, it’s important that the changes you make are for life.

. Control how much sugar and salt is in your diet: It’s normal to like chocolates and sweets, but it’s very important to consume these foods in small quantities. Sugar is a villain to a healthy diet because it can cause diabetes, osteoporosis, migraines, depression and other illnesses. Salt and sugar could be consumed in greater quantities if they didn’t have so many additives during its process. Too much salt causes hypertension.

. Exercise: In addition to burning calories, regular exercise of any kinds has many health benefits. If you’re life is going well you’ll have more discipline and desire to eat well and live a healthier life.
