34th day – The disciples who abandoned Jesus

“From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?” He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve.”(John 6:66-71)

This really happens! When there is a speech, a sermon about sacrifice and renunciation there are those who abandon the faith. There are many cases of people who were on the altar of the Universal Church and abandoned it. They did what is wrong, lying, stealing, committing adultery, and did not confessed it. They deceived everyone and eventually were discovered. People who cheat show a lack of character, they clearly show that they did not truly accept Jesus and do not want the light.

Remember the light, which we talked about earlier in this 40-day fast? Many people do not accept Jesus because He is the light! And who is in it is transparent, does not deceive, and is truthful. There is no middle ground!

They are not perfect, but they do not betray, deceive and remain secretly in error.

Those who take on their faith are willing to sacrifice and surrender their will, to expose the naked truth, their errors, their shameful sins, taking on their faith to be free from what is unrighteous, because they themselves do not tolerate it. But those who abandon the Lord Jesus want to live hiding their mistakes. They do not want to acknowledge their sin, start over, and pay the consequences.

They intend to be seen a person of “God” and continue to preach His word, but still live an unrighteous life. They have one foot in hell, and disguise themselves as “sheep”, but actually are “wolves”. They remain deceiving.

The Lord Jesus said to Peter, ““Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”

See if the words of the Lord Jesus were gentle, they were not! He was direct. When the Gospel is preached, which tells the truth, it is straightforward: “You lied, cheated, therefore you are a son of the devil!” These are not my words, but the Word of God. The father of lies is the devil, so those who lie are his children.

But when that person hears this they feel offended and when their sin is discovered they feel wronged, claiming they had no chance. In fact, when the problem is discovered, it is because the person did not exposed it, was not sincere, did not take on their faith! They wanted to live with this mistake and they were consciously hiding it.

And even if their conscious was accusing them they ignore it to do their will.

Friend, you should be very careful with who you are, because your dignity is at stake. Once your dignity is compromised you have to work hard to regain it. You will have to be humble to start all over again and undergo the entire process, which we all must go through.

But many do not want to “pay the price” and therefore abandon the Church, Jesus, because they prefer sin and defend it with all their might because they take pleasure in it.

“Then Jesus said to the twelve: “Do you also want to go away? But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”

Peter acknowledged that Jesus had the answer when He spoke about the truth, being honest, exposing your nakedness to receive forgiveness and to be humble. Jesus’ Words gave him life. Where would we go? He did not desire to be unrighteous!

See that there is a clear difference between those who hear the Word of God. It’s your choice friend. Make a well thought out choice because the consequences will come.

A big hug, I await your comment.

See you tomorrow.

  1. Hi Miss Viviane, to be a disciple of Jesus is to denied our will and surrender our life to God, willing to sacrifice, he is humble to accept mistakes and do the right. A true servant of God and doesn’t abandon God in trials or persecutions, he still stand firm. His faith to God is extra ordinary, can’t be shaken. He is tottaly trust and dependent to God.

  2. It is very true Jesus chose me and if I leave him because of sin or because I’m giving more attention to what is wrong not wanting to humble my self I will suffer the ramifications of my actions,so I have to remain in Him,humble my self, recognize my wrong and ask for forgivenes

  3. Thank you Mrs Vivi.

It also comes down to How you see and value Jesus in your life and what you see your soul for.

It is good to make it known out there of your mistakes, especially if you have authorities, not only just to expose but to really find help. You might find it that there are those who commit continuous mistakes that displeases God and it happens that they don’t know the root cause of this.

When you expose your sins and mistakes, the devil loses power over you, you are indeed free, you receive help, to help you discover the root so that you can avoid any further future mistakes, you identify what your weaknesses are and now you learn how to overcome them, and not be overcomed by them.

You may have to start all over again, lose things but it’s worth it for in exchange to receive the assurance of your salvation , Being in peace with Jesus.

    It is wonderful.

    Thank you for sharing.
