33th day – Who are those who get offended?

“Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”
When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you?
What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him.
And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.” (John 6:60-65)

Those who are offended are those who murmur, not to condemn, but because they know it is necessary to sacrifice.

When the Jesus’ Words offends you, you are the only one that loses out. Because the sacrifice He asks of you is whatever has been weighing down your life. For example: If you’re attached to your child, to material things, a position or “glory”, you are concerned in keeping them safe and you would even lie in fear of losing them because in your eyes they are your treasure.

When someone murmurs, it’s because they know they need to sacrifice, but they do not want to do their part.

The Lord Jesus says: ” It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing… “. What you do not want to do is sacrifice because you see these things as something essential in your life that brings you joy, security, but in fact, you gain nothing with them.

“…The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life…”

Once you obey and practice this, this Word will come to existence in your life. It will materialize in your life through your conduct and actions. At that moment, the weight of worrying is lifted and you are in total dependence of God.

The day is coming where we will take our sacrifice to the altar, and there will be those who actually sacrificed and those who do not, because they do not want to give what is asked of them… precisely what has been weighing them down. And oddly enough after the opportunity passes even what they have will be “taken away”: The child they love, the job they desire, the position they value so much, etc.

God does not punish you, but you had the chance to hear the truth and instead of practicing it, you showed the devil fear, showing him your character and spirit.

We show our spirit with our actions, conduct, dependency or independence from God.

Here it clearly shows who are those who murmur. And the Lord Jesus continued: “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”

In other words, I am the one in need and if I do not take the opportunity, the Father will not choose me. When am I chosen? When I am interested, act upon what I’ve heard and been taught. When I throw myself at the opportunity and believe. That’s when I make myself present and I am presented to the Lord Jesus.

If I were you who do not believe, I would be desperate saying, “God, please pick me! I want to be next. For I have lived the weight of my trauma, the negative words I heard from my family and friends. I live with that frustration even until today. I feel insecure and think I will never succeed in life. But from the moment that I decide, knowing that I have that power, I set this goal to reach that promise to come to You. I accept the proposal and surrender all! Here I am… Let me know what I need to give to you because I’m willing to do what has to be done!”

Once you take this action, this risk, and surrender to Him your will and your fears, you will feel strong because you have determined to stop being part of those who murmur.

Have you noticed that the people who murmur are annoying? You just want to get away from them. If you are like this I will not stand to be by your side. Like those people who always ask me: “Pray for me, is so difficult, so hard…” But your own prayer does not work! If you come to talk to me, you will hear the truth, I will not beat around the bush to relieve your pain, and you will hear what you have to do: Sacrifice!

Act according to your intelligent faith, because emotional faith will not take you anywhere.

A big hug and see you tomorrow.

  1. Hi Miss Viviane, I agree to what you said, act with our intelligent faith and don’t complain, anxious, murmur about things a hard situations, instead act upon it and make difference and we receive different result. If we are frustrated to our problems we can’t think well because we are focus on what we see, instead of using our faith, surrendered to God our hard situation and do our part, take action.
