Returning to the Past – 52th Part

A few months later, on August 2003 we were transferred to Spain.

What can I say about Spain?
It was the first country that my husband was responsible for, and it was of great value to learn so many things.

Everywhere I go I like to organize everything in the best possible way. I personally do not believe in developing somewhere without being aware of everything that exits there. So gradually, I began to remove what ever was old and no longer useful, and at the same time I cleaned everything as much as possible.

I was tired of hearing my husband get upset with me every time I did deep cleaning on the floor and other things. After I realized he did not like it, I would do it the best way possible when he was not there and before he saw me and got upset.

As I began to do things, the wives also wanted to participate and help. Once you are involved in the work, and do it with pleasure others will also be interested in doing the same. That is how I slowly taught the other wives to do the same in their churches without even realizing.

For me, no matter what job it is, I will do my best with pleasure and I do not do it to show anyone, but because I really like to keep things organized and clean. By doing so, my life is more practical. I love that it makes it more convenient, which greatly facilitates the work of God, because we do not know how long we will stay in one place. That is why organization is key. It also helps when something unexpected happens in our lives.

Every thing that was happening to me would help me in the future. If you have been following my blog, you will see in the details and everything that we go through help us in the future.

Being in a church outside of Brazil is a great learning experience because you do not have a lot of help since the church is smaller in these places. There are not many people available to help; therefore we are given a great opportunity to be part of the simplest things.

Just so you understand how important it is to partake of the simplest things, I’ll tell you something that happened in Mary’s time, when she was pregnant with the Lord Jesus and the angel came to Joseph. Here is what he said to Joseph:

Matthew 1: 20-23
“But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

God in His greatness, submitted his own Son to come down to earth. He not only told us to do the things from above, but also participated in it all, the whole process. Is this not beautiful?

That is why it is written that His name is Emmanuel, which is translated, God with us.

The simple things that God has done for us are simply beautiful. When we do something simple, we shall not take it as an offense, but should do it with pleasure. I see serving as an investment in my own person. I need to learn to serve so that I can learn how to get rid of any selfishness.
