Jacob’s life – Day 8

Hello everyone, we’re back and this is the 8th day we’re talking about Jacob’s life.

“Then Isaac answered and said to Esau, “Indeed I have made him your master, and all his brethren I have given to him as servants; with grain and wine I have sustained him. What shall I do now for you, my son?” And Esau said to his father, “Have you only one blessing, my father? Bless me—me also, O my father!” And Esau lifted up his voice and wept. Then Isaac his father answered and said to him:
“Behold, your dwelling shall be of the fatness of the earth,
And of the dew of heaven from above. By your sword you shall live,
And you shall serve your brother;
And it shall come to pass, when you become restless,
That you shall break his yoke from your neck.” (Gn. 27:37-40)

Day 8 – Esau looses his opportunity.

Who knew … Esau did everything right but not at the wrong time, he arrived too late. He blamed his brother for deceiving him and accused him of being a traitor, but he forgot that earlier he was the one that sold his birthright in exchange for food. Esau didn’t think it through and this is why he lost his chance.

How many of us have lost opportunities because we were busy looking at other people’s mistakes? Hoping others will change when we are the ones who need to change. And therefore the opportunity passes…

It reminded me of how it will be when the Lord Jesus returns, many will say: “What do I do now? … I did everything. I was an Assistant, I counseled those in need, gave my tithes and offerings. Why? ”
Because you didn’t realize that you had to look at yourself and not only worry about how other people need to change.

Jacob, in fact, didn’t do the right thing, but Esau didn’t have the credibility to point out his brother’s error, because he was also wrong.

Often, this is what happens, people are strong enough to accuse others, but don’t have the same strength to face their own mistakes. That’s a problem because while you’re looking at other people’s errors, you won’t be able change yourself. This change will only happen when you feel your own pain.

The Holy Spirit is the one who reveals our condition. This doesn’t happen “by force”, or based on other people’s actions; wanting to do this because others are doing it, or because it wouldn’t be “right” not to do it.
In other words, you just do it as an appearance, to be like others, and not because you recognize your own faults. So you loose your opportunity. And when you look back to see the results of what you’ve invested in, you won’t find them, because you were deceitful, unreal, your surrender wasn’t sincere and true.

If you are participating in the campaign “Now it’s my turn!” “I’m tired of who I am” Then, STOP being deceitful and living a lie. Recognize who you truly are, and don’t let go of this opportunity.

We will be back tomorrow and we will continue talking about Jacob’s life.

  2. I don’t want to loose anymore opportunities, wasting time looking at others, and not at my own condition. The opportunity is now.
