How to position ourselves before God?
1st. TRY TO KNOW GOD MORE AND MORE. NOT RELIGIOUSLY OR SOMETHING SYSTEMATIC.
Are you currently satisfied with the degree of intimacy in your relationship with God? Do you already know Him well enough?
There is much more God has to offer us and we can enjoy a greater intimacy with Him, but how?
By seeking Him and willingly listen and speak to Him, like when you have a conversation with someone you love. Not just when something happens or you need something from Him.
“I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me.” (Pv.8: 17)
2nd MEDITATE ON HIS CHARACTERISTICS
Daniel is a great example of this. He found favor before the King’s eyes because he had many characteristics that others did not have. He was different because of his intimacy with God.
And you? What characteristics do you posses?
Have people around you seen the reflection of God’s character in you?
3rd INFLUENCE OTHERS
Daniel became a ruler amongst the wicked and unbelievers and thus obtained prominence and influence over them.
God has called us to influence others in our generation and to pass on life to those around us, through our testimony.
Influence is to create role models. We must believe in the power of multiplication that has been given to us by God. Many times we are the only reference of Christ in places we attend: At home, at work, at school or college.
Daniel remained faithful in the midst of a dominant and influential society similar to the one we live in today.
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank… (Dn.1: 8)
God wants us to make a difference, but we must renounce our own will daily.
He wants to mold us into His image so we can influence the young people around us.
Analyze yourself and search for these characteristics within yourself, so that you may be a youth that really makes the difference.
YOUR LIFE IS A REFLECTION OF YOUR INTIMACY WITH GOD.

This message has definitely brought something new to my mind. My level of intimacy with God is something I have been working on improving and from reading this ice really understood what I must start doing to see the results. I learnt first that I can’t be religious in my relationship with God nor in the way I speak to Him. I must learn to speak to God in the same way I speak to a loved one such as a friend, my mum or dad – but with even GREATER zeal and passion, as when I give my all into seeking Him I will surely know more of Him. Secondly I understood that I must constantly analyse my character in order to identify Gods characteristics in me and to also obtain those that I may not have. Gods characteristics in me results in me becoming a reflection of Gods character to those around me.
Lastly, I also understood that in order for me to make the difference for God I must be a reference for others to Him. I must allow God to mould me into a living testimony who will draw others near to Him due to my character, my image and my overall life.
As it says at the end of the message ‘my life is a reflection of my intimacy with God’
