Assistant, what is your mission?

In today’s assistants post, I would like to guide you to think about a topic that we all lived this past Sunday, and by the way, I hope that you lived that same thought. Well, to enter into this topic, I would like to ask you the following question: Why is it that you have the Holy Spirit?

Over the years, unfortunately, many divert from the main focus and let themselves be carried away by their own thoughts, which reveal personal interests and worldly satisfaction, leaving aside the real and true purpose for which they were called.

Here is the answer to the question asked:

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Isaiah 61: 1-3

Observe the mission of those who have the Spirit of God upon them, which is not only for their own benefit, but purposely to:

PREACH good tidings to the poor;
HEAL the brokenhearted;
PROCLAIM liberty to the captives;
OPENING of the prison to those who are bound;
PROCLAIM the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God;
COMFORT all who mourn;
CONSOLE those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty of ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

I highlighted in large font the first words so that you understand that the Holy Spirit is ACTION! He is not upon us for us to be just standing in uniform to “parade” across the salon, or waiting for the people to come to us. No! On the contrary, we are the watchmen that must go to the broken, the captives, those who are bound, who mourn, in short, to those who are in darkness … this is the true mission of the assistant!

I would like for you to be honest with yourself: have you truly and in fact fulfilled this mission? Or do you recognize that you are far from this reality for which you are being held responsible?

    Thank you Mrs Luisa this has helped me to analyse myself and I have seen myself and honestly I am not doing all. I do a little but haven’t get out of my norm and from now on I will be. On my mission.

    Truly speaking I was doing or fullfilling this mission but with time I died out of love for the soul. I developed hatred towards a certain pastor since then I became like a dry bone. I stopped tithing, stopped personal prayer, stopped sacrificing almost everything that grew my spiritual maturity I stopped participating in it. Today I struggle so much to go and serve, it is a battle for me to be in the uniform again. I be so so empty that I start being aggressive towards my wife. I am still in the church serving but very dry and empty. That is the truth.

      At least you are sincere. Remember your uniform can’t save you. You can go speak to the Pastor and tell him what is happening. Before converting I used to hold grudges, against everyone at work, in the church including pastors the wife assistant s and members. It took humbleness to realise that all these people can’t all hate me. I searched inside and exposed an ugly side of me and satan couldn’t hold me hostage anymore. This message is the beginning don’t worry about uniform or what will the people say.Remember your salvation is at risk.

      Stay in the faith.

    Thank you Mrs Viv for sharing the message its powerful indeed that I was not given the Spirit of God just to say I have the Holy Spirit but to put it into good use which is to save souls.
