Who is the Assistant that develops?
Many think they’re developing because they’re always active in the church, because they work in almost all the meetings, because they do everything that is asked of them, or because they’re always evangelizing. In conclusion, because they’re always moving, they think they are “being a hit”!
Isn’t important and isn’t part of the development? Yes!
However, we cannot fool ourselves, thinking that all this is enough for us not to worry about our spiritual development. No!!! A thousand times NO !!!
The development that God expects from each of us begins with our surrendering, in relation to all that’s spiritual. I’ll give you clear examples that reveal when an assistant is putting at risk the development of her salvation;
- When she only lives worried about what is physical;
- When she only thinks about her well-being and position;
- When she doesn’t want to “let go” of her comfort zone;
- When she doesn’t want to expose what is within her, because she’s afraid of the reprisals;
- When she thinks she’s learned everything and now her role is to teach;
- When she no longer wants to invest in her interior, participating in Godllywood. She thinks this work is for other women, except her. Because in her mind, she has the idea that she already does many things and that there’s no need to have other commitments, forgetting that in first place, is the investment of her own soul;
- When she doesn’t participate, for example, of the audios that are published here on the blog by Viviane Freitas, because she thinks it’s no longer needed. She has in her mind a well-established idea that she knows everything and doesn’t have the need to learn anything else.
It seems that we’re sometimes annoying, because we always insist on the same “key” but our intention is to see God’s character in each assistant, but above all, see this spiritual development that is closely linked to SALVATION!

Yes, I agree somewhat with the above. We certainly should not think that because we are doing things or engaging in church activities we are growing spiritually. But also I don’t agree that adding more things to do such as the Godllywood challenges and listening to audios is sufficient for our growth. Yes, it helps a lot and I enjoy participating in the Godllywood Challenges and encourage all women to do so but I never hear anyone emphasizing the importance of spending time alone with God himself. We must achieve a balance in life where we are doing things to serve but also allowing time to just be with Him like Mary when she was seating by his feet in his presence. We need time in silence to meditate in what we learned, to meditate on his Word, time to listen to his voice talking to us as Christ himself thought us because being the Son of God he himself took time to be alone with the Father. Sometimes it seems that there are more and more activities to engage in church and pressure to do so but less and less time available to just be Mary by his feet.

True Mam, once we let emotion overcome us that is the start of entertaining the bad ideas that the devil wants to work in our life to be far from the real meaning of being a woman of GOD. Good day mrs. Luisa. Thank you for the post. This will serve as a reminder not to forget that spiritual development is more important. I am new in the work of God and been having more responsibilities lately. I am happy because God is counting on me but I won’t forget that spiritual development is about my relationship with God if I am getting closer to Him and not the things that I do.

Thank you for this blog. I was in that illusion about development which are only physical… I forgot the spiritual development that I need to have. Now i understand better and i’ll always invest in my inner self.
