“The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, “I am the bread which came down from heaven.” And they said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” Jesus therefore answered and said to them, “Do not murmur among yourselves. No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.”
(John 6 :41-47)

The Jews were murmuring because the Lord Jesus had said to be the bread that came down from heaven. They questioned among themselves how it could be possible that he called Himself the Son of God if they knew His parents. They did not understand what Jesus was saying.

If you notice the response that the Lord Jesus gave, you will be astonished! Look what He said, in other words: “If you do not understand what I have to give you and what you I’m saying it is because the Father has not sent you!”

There is no other way! If the Father does not draw you to the Lord Jesus there is no point in murmuring or trying to understand because God did not call you.

And you ask: “Do you mean that God has favoritism!” No! God does not choose favorites, but those who listen and learn are the ones that go to the Lord Jesus. They do not just hear the message and inform themselves, but they have heard and learned. These come to Him! And why? Because as we hear the Word of God, we allow It to wash us, to take away the wrong thoughts, evil eyes, anxiety, worry, fear, doubt, inconstancy…

When I hear the Word of God and bring into my life, I create the division between rational and emotional faith! I listen, learn and go to God letting Him partake in everything, for He alone has the ability to operate the extraordinary change inside me.

Many people are waiting for someone to go up to them, for example, the Pastor’s wife, an assistant… they are depending on someone to attend them. By doing so you are not going to the Father, you are not listening and learning. If you are waiting on someone, it means you are not interested, you are not seeking, but when there is thirst, you ask, listen, and join those who are of God to learn!

Do you think I’ve always been teaching? No! I became a Pastor’s wife at 17 and I hoped to find others to teach me, but since they saw me as Bishop Macedo’s daughter they thought I did not need to be taught!

While in this situation, I still intended to grow in my faith and find answers to what I did not know. I searched for answers, asked questions. I would often stay close to the Pastor’s to hear what they were saying and learn. I was attentive to what my father directed the servants of God and brought it into my life so I could help my husband. I wanted to be useful in the Work of God and serve Him. I was not called to be a Pastor’s wife to look “pretty”, but to win souls and I wanted to learn how to serve better and for someone to teach me. I went up to people and asked what I needed to know and exposed myself!

And that’s how I became closer to God and found answers. I did not wait for someone to do my part, but I went after what I wanted!

I see many people in the church waiting for someone to accompany them, and that is not good! When you are interested in doing what is right, you look for a way to get your questions answered! You are not worried if you are “bothering” someone or that you would be misunderstood. You have to find the need to value yourself and getting rid of your doubts. This is to fight for your rights and to show interest in being better for God!

Those Jews murmured and it is likely that those who cannot get close to anyone murmur: “Oh, it’s because there are groups, she only talks to that one person… ” But do you know why? Because that person she talks to sought, searched, became interested not only by asking for a prayer. She went up to someone received guidance and followed the direction! That is the person who has heard and learned. This person goes to Jesus!

When you are interested you ask and get your questions answered without shyness or shame. You search for an intelligent faith not an emotional one. You want an answer, a direction.

Use your head, because, otherwise, you will be literally a slave of your feelings. And there will be no use in murmuring!

If you are the type of person who murmurs that your life does not go forward because no one helps you or that you were not “chosen”, or haven’t called God’s attention it is because you have not sought Him.

Those who resolve the root of the problem are the ones that seek God! Faith requires obedience, humility, to take action. It has nothing to do with feelings, nor shyness, or influence from the past, you are only interested in what you want to achieve.

Be rational! God did not call you to depend on me or anyone else, but for you to seek Him and address what is inside of you. If you have to talk with a Pastor’s wife, or write your doubts here on the Blog, even if you think that there are so many questions and we may never get to your question, it does not hurt to try!

Those who seek persist, search, knock, and are perseverant. This is what many do not want to do because they think it is humiliating to persevere, that no one is paying attention to them. But do not worry about what the others think! My actions are what will give me the answer I’m looking for!

Or do you think God’s miracles have happened in my life just because He was pleased with me? No! I had to take possession of the promise! It is a War and in it we are required to have patience, belief, strength, intelligent faith and to take action!

Free yourself from this mentality that makes your life tied up! I already had this mentally, but from the moment I learned about intelligent faith I became a threat to the devil. That’s what you have to be: A threat to the devil! Be a person of action not for what is wrong, but to solve the problem that is within you.

Now it’s your turn to take action! We will back here tomorrow.

  1. Thank you Miss Viviane, very strong message. Being attentive, willingness to learn and seeking guidance to right person a man of God, is indeed very helpful. I agree to what you said here Miss Viviane, the more we seek guidance and direction the more we come closer to God. Before I’m very shy and I don’t talk to others, I have low self esteem, full of insecurities, doubt, lack of confidence to do certain things, but I thank God, I overcome all pf this by the help of His instrument pastor and pastor wife. Now I dont need someone to do it, I’ll be the one to take action. I make my self available specially in the work of God. To use my intelligence faith and attentive, paying attention to a man of God to his guidance and directions is very helpful indeed.

  2. Thank you Mrs Vivi

We are the ones who are supposed to call the attention of God indeed and if we keep doubting, fearing and sleep in faith, He will not wait but go for those who are presenting themselves before Him approved for service.

  3. hie mrs V. thank you so much. its true what you have said most of the time we always expect things to happen like magic we never put our faith into action we are always depending on other people eg pastors assitants. some even wish to go with pastors to go put their faith into acton. some people like feeling sorry for themselves. i used to be one of them but eversince i learnt to be independent from other people and depend on God alone and to obey the word of God and believe in his promises my life somuch better. i think everything is in obedience, obeying the word of God.
