1st Day : Who knows the heart?

Hello to all cybernauts!

It is a pleasure to be here with you, in Faith! We are here in the 21 days of Fast and you are invited to participate and read these reflections every day!

Be efficient in everything that you do for God. Don’t miss out, you have nothing to lose in reading these reflections; you can read at anytime of the day, because it’s always going to be available here in the blog ViviFreitas.

Today we are going to be talking about who knows the heart, moreover, we are going to be discussing situations here on the Blog about this topic. The heart is the fountain to emotions, so you have to know how it reacts, and who it is… Because certainly, when you don’t have the Holy Spirit, you are spiritually “off”, and it is because your heart has prevailed and since this has happened, the Holy Spirit has no place, or “space” in your life! And that is exactly why we are here, and we are going to be here daily, over the 21 days, to speak about your heart.

In the book of Jeremiah 17: 9-10, it says the following:

“The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.
Who can know it?
I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind,
even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”

Firstly, I would like to say that the heart, my cybernaut friend, is your inner self! In other words, who you are! What you have in your mind, in your thoughts, is going to reflect who you are. When you are alone or when something happens, thoughts come, some that come from the devil, and others that are YOURS! It is not from the devil, no! They are yours! You are the one thinking in that way.

Your heart is also your will, what you want to do, and it reflects your soul! Observe that when you read in the book of Jeremiah 17:9, that the heart is deceitful, you could think the following: “How can my heart be deceitful?” Your being… As always says, “I am a good person”; “I am an assistant” ; “I have so many years in the Work of God”; “I am a pastor’s wife”; “I am a member of the church for so many years”; “I was blessed… this miracle and that one…” But you are observing your heart, because we are not speaking about blessings, position, we are not referring to if you are baptized with the Holy Spirit or not… what I’m saying is that the heart is deceitful! Your emotions, your will are the ones that are deceiving you! And you think that your will is in fact God’s will! And that this way of thinking is just… But when you measure up the consequences, “weighing it on the scale,” you will see that everything is deceit!

When we are speaking about the soul of a person: it is precisely the heart because this is the source of feelings and sin.

Note how deceitful and traitorous the header is, astute above all else.

The problem that you have, my cybernaut friend, is not your doubts, not your family, not your financial worries, you husband or another person… The problem is your heart! And that is what we want to emphasize here on the Blog! The problem that you are living with, is derived from the heart.

“The heart is deceitful above all thing…” (Jeremiah 17: 9)

So it is not the problem that is deceiving you, your heart is more deceitful than anything else.

“…and desperately wicked;” (Jeremiah 17: 9)

It always wants to bring you to the side that is bad, perverse, that looks to your ego, your pride, to your defenses, your image… Your heart has the tendency to bring you towards corruption.

“…Who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17: 9)

Is it perhaps that you, who are doing these 21 days of Fast… do you know who you have really been? You could say: “I am on this journey of these 21 days and I want the Holy Spirit.”; “I already have the Holy Spirit, but I want to be renewed, to develop more my spiritual life, because I see myself very stagnant…”

But have you paid attention to your heart? Are you looking for a response to resolve the problem of you inner self, your being? Of your will? Of your soul? Did you know that the heart has memories of your past? You that have suffered a lot in your past, have been rejected, your husband has left you, you were abused, in your home there only exits fights, you have fears… All these memories stay guarded in heart, and it ends up acting according to your memory, what you have saved and saw, and so it “protects itself” so that you don’t get hurt, but you end up acting maliciously, in other words, with bad eyes towards others, because of what happened.

Look at what the Word of God says:

” I, the the Lord, search the heart…” (Jeremiah 17: 10)

You who feel uncomfortable, maybe even of your actions; when you are called to attention, you feel ashamed or you feel attacked by this, because you acted in the wrong way.

God searches the heart. What does this mean? He looks, searches, examines, explores, in other words, He looks to see what is happening inside of you! We are speaking right now about your inner self, your thoughts, your will, of what you prioritize.

“…I test the mind;” (Jeremiah 17: 10)

He searches your heart and tests your mind; He sees them and tests them: if your thoughts are perverse, if you judge others…

“….even to give every man according to his ways” (Jeremiah 17:10)

Cybernaut, independently if you are a bishop’s wife, or pastor’s wife, if you are an assistant, if you are a Bishop or a Pope, be it whoever… a member, evangelist, of the youth group… Your position does not matter! What matters is that all your actions are going to have consequences. You are going to receive in accordance to your proceedings. What does this mean? Your choices, your path.

“…according to the fruit of his doings.” (Jeremiah 17: 10)

What you do is who you are! Every one of us receives according to our actions and our behavior.

Are you really decided to receive the Holy Spirit? Are you really decided in receiving in having a new heart? So it is the time to resolve! Look at your inner self, your soul! Because up until now, while you have been looking at your position, at others, you have not been looking at yourself, at your soul! You were not checking from where came your ideas, your where your thoughts were coming from. You were not checking to see to what you are inclined to… your idleness? To your pride? Your selfishness? You are not understanding what emotions are “surfacing,”  the attitudes that you are taking and because of them, what have you experienced?

It is because you have been looking at someone else! When you do this, you are not worrying about your soul.

And you have started the Fast of 21 days thinking the following: “Look God, I want the Lord to fill me with Your Spirit, but I do not want to do my part!” In other words, if you don’t hate, don’t observe, you start the Fast and start looking at other what others are doing….

So the you are not doing this Fast of 21 days for you spiritual life! You are trying to judge, to act, and want others to look for what is missing in them, of what you are looking at and not what you are looking at in yourself.

Cybernaut, God is not going to descend from heaven and convert your heart! And you ask, “Oh, no?” NO! The heart is converted by you! You are the one that has to change, to hate your wrong doings, what makes you a “heavy person”, soft, slow to act in Faith! Slow to be efficient and to serve God! You serve until a certain point, and past that, you don’t want to serve God anymore… And that is why the heart is deceitful. At church you say, “I want to serve God!” but at home when you are at work or at home, among your colleagues, and you have to do more, you are devastated… and you say: “But I am doing it for my boss! Something that is not even for the church…” Present to God what you offer, what you are giving. And if you offer what is bad, where you work with someone who is an unbeliever, offer that to God as well! You are deluded in thinking that at church you can be a good person, but at home you can be another person. That is a problem that is inside of you!

Embark on this journey of faith! During this 21 days of Fast, look within! Don’t wait for anyone to do what you should do! Don’t depend on anyone. You are the one that has to change! I am the one that has to change, to be better!

While I am here on this Earth, I have to “run after”, be better, to notice what is in my being, in my inner self, what is on my mind, in my thoughts; my will.

To notice what I am “guarding”, in the memory of my past.
To notice if there is truth in what I know; in better terms, is there truth in what I know and practice?
To notice my inclinations, where I am always falling and always committing the same mistakes.
To notice my emotions, my doubts, my fears, my insecurities that are inside of me.
I have to notice all of this! To be on guard all the time!

And when I do this, I grow! Because I don’t look at others, I look at myself. If people commit their mistakes, I can’t do anything, I can’t change anyone!

During these days, we will speaking more about the heart, and we will prove many things through examples.

It will be good, because you are going to see where your weakness comes from. You aren’t going to point fingers at “so and so”… You are going to notice that you really have a soul and you are going to need to save it! How? Guarding and obeying the Word of God!

  2. Thanks Miss for this blog! This has set me on a task to really dig deeper in me and be totally honest and sincere with myself. I am discovering that I need to be honest with myself, I must not be a hypocrite. No time for sugar-coating my actions with excuses, but be humble, frank and open with myself and God and change my ways. (Audrey, Watford England)

  5. Thank you very much for sharing these are strong word for me it is very easy to look at people and judge them and neglect our own soul this is a trap from this devil and I have to stand up and distory. Who I am it will reflect on the outside don’t care how much I spend on my outter apparance, this is why I will focus on my self in this 21 days it’s for me I best interest is to become closer to God going against my will and desire to change my bad ways to let my character to be like God. Important the heart is wicked and this is why I cannot live by emotion but the opposite which is faith.

  6. Thank you Mrs Viviane,

I realize that there’s a thing line between emotional faith and reasoning. There’s probably some decisions in my life that I have made based on emotions but thinking that I was reasoning well. In this fast I want to have the Spirit of discernment for me to know when I’m being emotional and when I’m using intelligent faith by reasoning.
