Hello everyone, today is the 7th day we are talking about Jacob\u2019s life, and today, it\u2019s Esau\u2019s turn. Let’s see what happens:<\/p>

\n“Now it happened, as soon as Isaac had finished blessing Jacob, and Jacob had scarcely gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.\u00a0He also had made savory food, and brought it to his father, and said to his father, \u201cLet my father arise and eat of his son\u2019s game, that your soul may bless me.\u201d\u00a0And his father Isaac said to him, \u201cWho are you?\u201d So he said, \u201cI am your son, your firstborn, Esau.\u00a0Then Isaac trembled exceedingly, and said, \u201cWho? Where is the one who hunted game and brought it to me? I ate all of it before you came, and I have blessed him\u2014and indeed he shall be blessed. \u201dWhen Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with an exceedingly great and bitter cry, and said to his father, \u201cBless me\u2014me also, O my father!\u201d But he said, \u201cYour brother came with deceit and has taken away your blessing.\u201dAnd Esau said, \u201cIs he not rightly named Jacob? For he has supplanted me these two times. He took away my birthright, and now look, he has taken away my blessing!\u201d And he said, \u201cHave you not reserved a blessing for me?<\/em>\u201d (Gn.27 :30-36)

\nDay 7 \u2013 Esau\u2019s intention<\/strong>
\n\u00a0
\nUnfortunately, Esau lost his chance, but this didn\u2019t happen at that moment, it had already been inside of him. Since the beginning he didn\u2019t care much for this blessing. Since he was a strong man, a hunter, and was praised by his father, Isaac, who he knew preferred him because he was the eldest, it made him feel secure and at ease.
\n\u00a0
\nWhen someone receives approval before men and remains confident in this approval, they trust in him or herself instead of seeking this trust that comes from God.
\n\u00a0
\nEsau had despised his birthright when he sold it to his brother, because of his hunger. If you notice, at the time, he lost his chance because he didn\u2019t see it as something important.
\nIt wasn\u2019t because God didn\u2019t give him the opportunity, or the fact that he did everything he was supposed to by bringing the game that would guarantee this blessing.
\n\u00a0
\nEven though Jacob went out to get the flock and was helped by mother he received the blessing. But, Esau, even though he went out to the field, he was not accepted.
\n\u00a0
\nWhy?
\n\u00a0
\nBecause Esau\u2019s intentions weren\u2019t good, he was only interested in his father’s inheritance, in other words the physical aspect of the blessing.
\nSince Esau was the breadwinner, he felt sure about himself, and he saw the blessing as a solution, as something only material.
\nThat\u2019s why he thought if he sold his birthright, it wouldn\u2019t have any consequences. But it did, indeed…
\n\u00a0
\nAnd today? How can we take this message into our own lives?
\n\u00a0
\nWhy do I want to become the very blessing? It is for other people to submit to me, or so I can be praised by the Pastor, or be honored by my family, co-workers, because of the victories I have received, etc.
\nIs it for this reason, for the physical things, to receive approval, or because you really need something you haven\u2019t yet received?
\n\u00a0
\nJacob knew he wasn\u2019t “strong” and that he needed that blessing. Esau, on the other hand, thought to have strength, and therefore despised it.
\n\u00a0
\nWhat is your intention? Is it to be honored, or do you want God to be glorified through you?
\n\u00a0
\nSee what your intentions are because this will be presented along with your sacrifice. If you have ulterior motives, your sacrifice will not be complete because you will only be doing the physical aspect and not the Spiritual aspect. The Spiritual aspect demand you to surrender yourself and be flexible in order to allow God to work inside of you, which will inevitably be reflected on the outside.
\n\u00a0
\nI would like you, my friend, to understand, and evaluate the choices you have made, and what your determination has been … Has it all been to glorify God or yourself?
