\u201cFeelings bring forth feelings.\u201d \u2014 <\/span>Viviane Freitas<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
\u201cAnd Mary said: \u2018My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;\u2028 for behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. <\/b>For He who is mighty has done great things for me, \u2028and holy is His name. <\/b>And His mercy is on those who fear Him\u2028 from generation to generation. <\/b>He has shown strength with His arm;\u2028 He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. <\/b>He has put down the mighty from their thrones, \u2028and exalted the lowly. <\/b>He has filled the hungry with good things,\u2028 and the rich He has sent away empty. <\/b>He has helped His servant Israel,\u2028 in remembrance of His mercy, as He spoke to our fathers,\u2028to Abraham and to his seed forever.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/i> (Luke 1:46-55)<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

Mary\u2019s prayer reveals what was in her heart.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

Three are those who speak in the Bible: God, man, and the devil.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

In this case, it\u2019s Mary who is speaking.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

She was not speaking by the Spirit, but she expressing herself in her own words.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

For sure Mary was not popular, especially because in those days women did not have much value.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

But from the moment she conceived the Lord Jesus, the Son of the Most High, her name would go down in history; everyone would know about, for she was chosen by God Himself.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

And she realised that\u2026<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

In her own words, she spoke about what God had done inside of her, although she did not consider herself worthy of that.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cAnd His mercy is on those who fear Him \u2028from generation to generation.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

Why did Mary say that?<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

Because she did not consider herself perfect!<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

Only those who are aware of their mistakes and imperfections recognise the mercy of God.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

When we look inside of us, we see how much we need to depend on God and be grateful to Him.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

Even though nothing could be seen on the outside, Mary was already grateful:<\/span><\/b> \u201c<\/i>For He who is mighty has done great things for me\u2026\u201d <\/i><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

But the fact that she was carrying God Himself inside of her \u2014 the Lord Jesus \u2014 was enough for her.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

When we have an encounter with God, when we have Him inside of us, we exult and thank Him for everything He has done and will do in our lives.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cHe has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts\u2026\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

God sees what is inside of you. He knows whether or not you follow your heart and live by what you feel.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

God sees what people cannot see; He knows what is inside of you.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

What has filled your mind? What are your priorities?<\/p>\n

<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

Do you live to please others? Do you follow the bad or the good examples? <\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

Are you being held back by a feeling or trauma? Are you always trying to defend or justify yourself? Have you lost trust?<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

God can only manifest Himself to us when we depend on Him, when we do not make hasty decisions \u201cjust in case\u201d he does not do His part.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

When we don\u2019t trust in God, we are constantly worried and doubtful\u2026<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cHe has put down the mighty from their thrones\u2026\u201d<\/i><\/span> <\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

Mary saw God put down the mighty from their thrones!<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

No matter how much you\u2019ve been threatened, trust in God! Don\u2019t justify yourself. Place everything in the hand of God, and He will do justice.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cHe has filled the hungry with good things\u2026\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

\u00a0The hungry for justice do not justify themselves to others; instead, they wait on God and are filled with good things. Those who trust in God have peace because they know God will provide for them!<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cHe has helped His servant Israel, \u2028in remembrance of His mercy, as He spoke to our fathers,\u2028to Abraham and to his seed forever.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Look at how Mar saw God\u2026<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

There are people who say in their hearts, \u201cIt\u2019s unfair; I\u2019ve been hard done by\u2026\u201d and so, they do not trust in God.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

But those who trust and depend on Him appreciate Him despite their circumstances. Their eyes are good.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Look at Mary\u2019s conduct and attitudes and understand why God chose her\u2026 Look at her gratitude and exultation of God.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

Mary saw God as merciful and patient.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

God always fulfils His promises \u2014 and Mary knew that. She did not need to see anything in order to believe. She didn\u2019t need to hold a baby in her arms to glorify God.<\/p>\n

<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

Her words reflected what was inside of her\u2026<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cFor out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.\u201d <\/i>(Matthew 12:34)<\/p>\n
